Do Republicans really believe that the US going it alone is safer?

Thereā€™s a famous phrase. Itā€™s called ā€œIā€™ve got your backā€œ. Thatā€™s why, historically, we sign treaties. For protection.

Russia and North Korea and other despotic regimes will never have our back. They want to see America destroyed.

So why do Republicans think that those awful countries are our friends and going it alone separate from our former friends is the best path for the United States?

I just want other countries to carry their own weight.
I dont even like the american nanny state. Much less the global nanny state.
Wipe your own asses

We elect public servants to call the shots in the best interests of our people. Other countries nominally do the same. Where multinational decisions walk in tandem, fine.

Where they do not, or other nations don't pull their weight under treaties, fuck 'em.

Since we broke from the globalist plantation, many so-called allies do not "have our back", but are rather aiming at it.

What does it mean when Republicans say other countries donā€™t pull their weight. What is it they expect other countries to do?

If you dont understand the issue at all, why start a thread?

America has never asked another country to come to our defense (since the French in 1783).

We have, however, come to the aid of many countries who are less than grateful for the assistance.

I fail to see what America has to gain from providing military protection for any nation who isn't willing to support themselves.

Global treaties always favor the foreign nations, never the USA. President Trump is the first modern day President who understands this and has the backbone to do something about it. Leftist Democrats attack him because they want a weak America that caters to the global alliance.

This is the problem with Republicans. They donā€™t want to Negotiate, didnā€™t want to make deals. With them itā€™s tow the line or fuk you.
Thatā€™s not diplomacy. Thatā€™s not working with people. Thatā€™s how Putin gives orders to the people that work for him.

Of course I know the issue. I also know that Obama negotiated with these other countries that they would increase over time the amount of money they paid for their military. And thatā€™s something that Trump is trying to take credit for, again.
And thatā€™s not even really the issue. I believe the issue is that Putin has ordered Donald Trump to destroy NATO and to isolate the United States and Trump is doing it. How do we know? His actions. They are telling us whatā€™s going on. Just look at what Trump says and does. Itā€™s not like itā€™s a secret.

It's protecting your own best interests is what it is.

Pay up.
Thatā€™s what the mafia does. Itā€™s called a protection racket. Itā€™s not something they negotiate, they give orders for a deal you canā€™t turn down.

It's only a protection racket if you don't want or need the protection for which you're being asked to pay.

If other countries don't want our protection, then why are you upset we are withdrawing it for non-payment?

Trump has turned the GOP into the Party of Stupid, this failed, wrongheaded policy is an example of that.

Thereā€™s a huge difference between countries writing treaties for mutual protection and demanding money for protection. Try to figure out why.

And in spite of massive evidence, they refuse to see it.

Mutual protection?

Is the French army going to save us from a Russian invasion?
