The facts are simple....the colleges have turned the exploitation of black athletes who are not college material to begin with into a situation where the successful teams can hire a staff headed by a coach who gives orders, hires and fires and is paid millions of dollars a season. Or as Republicans refer to it......a normal business.
When the athletes show up to play they wear the college colors, have a number and represent a college who sponsors them. What the fuck is the difference in that and NASCAR? One thing.....a good NASCAR driver makes as much or more money as his crew chief and sometimes as much as the owner.

I have zero problem with the entire NCAA football program having a plan that athletes need a 1000 SAT and B + GPA in HS.

I repeat....hire a team, pay them by the same percentages pro's do and forget the fact that they can't understand division and multiplication and don't know how to read at a seventh grade level. Using three "You Knows" per sentence might be something folks could overlook too.
Any athlete who accepts a football scholarship and doesn't take that opportunity to educate himself and earn a degree is the author of his own misfortune. Guys like that have squandered the tuition, room and board, etc. that they were paid to play.

Surely you're shitting me. I live near the University of Tennessee. Each Saturday during football season there are at least 100,000 and sometimes up to 105,000 in the stands at Neyland stadium. The average cost of admission to the public is $50-$120 and some of the high dollar VIP seats are a lot more than that. Do the math.

They're the de facto minor league and the NCAA is a monopoly. It's a freedom thing. You act as if they have a choice when they don't, if a career in football or basketball is what they want. Minor leaguers get paid and don't worry about having to jump through educational hoops, if they don't really belong in college.
