You're not getting that raise to 15 an hour to man the drive through. Your pay wasn't cut you never deserved it. Your expenses are your problem.

Do republicans believe tax cuts pay for themselves?

Nope. Not completely. Do you believe they add any growth?
That they don't pay for themselves partially?

We? You got a mouse in your pocket? Schizophrenic?

    Here's how it works.

    Obama's GDP ... 1.5%

    Trump's GDP ... 3-4%

That means the economy is growing more than twice as fast.

    Understand?

Dunno. A lot of em have some crazy notion that a tax increase is a tax cut, though.

    It's the darndest thing.

That last tax bill was actually a tax increase, thanks to the GOP's adoption of chained cpi into their legislation. We're getting hit with the inflation tax. It's just a gradual tax increase, is all, gowing bigger and bigger and bigger very gradually. Around the time it expires, it'll have maxxed out and we'll see a lot of people in the middle class bumped into higher tax brackets.

Politicians love the inflation tax because they do not have to vote on it.
