In a dependant and enslaved country.
Suppose someone wanted to expose the idiocy of racism (or promote racism instead), and their book contained many politically incorrect historical references, such as slave breeding, and phrases, such as "chink" or "******."

Would a major publisher accept the book, even if the book was ultimately making a stance against the futility of racism?

Wouldn't think so.

The question would be "can this book target a sufficient audience to make it financially worthwhile."

No.

"Politically correct" is in the eye of the beholder.

Seen any Ann Coulter books?

If there's a market, there's a publisher.

Major publications are going the way the dinosaur in the same manner as large record labels. Information Technology is putting a slow end to these entities.

One can publish a book on Amazon all on their own these days...

Naivete or? Speaking of "fiction," do you think Hillary's book deals($8M & $14M) were based on expected profit?

2nd, the poster above about online printing is right.

Do some research in that area.

If you have a target audience, the success will be dependent on the quality of writing, the quality of PR, and the quality and pricing of publishing.

Yep. If David Irving can get his books published on Amazon (even though his books blatantly deny the holocaust), there are very few 'red zones'.

define 'profit'

she made a fortune

In case you forgot, this thread is about publishers, not authors. My point was that her publishers were more interested in PC politics than making a profit.

So what? If it is a private business, then it is their business, not yours.
