Fair enough. I'm not so sure, though.Well then, what exactly do you mean by stewardship of the environment (I think you are the one that brought this up)?True. The issue is your argument and it's a fairly commonly used tactic. A person with idology x cheats on their spouse, which then becomes an indictiment of the ideology as oppossed to a character flaw of the individual. It's really quite lame.
Requiring oil companies to drill relief wells along with the main well?
Requiring people to cut down on light pollution during turtle nesting season?
Outlawing DDT?
Outlawing force-feeding cows corn?
Those are all under "stewardship" and if you object to those why would you object to cock fights and dog fights?
Because they encompass different realms. The OP presumed that propery rights are sacrisanct and that whatever a peson owns, no mater what it is, he/she can do with as they please. I again still think that is a premise that needs some further testing.
I did bring up the stewardship idea becuase i would consider animals part of the environment. Admittedly I'm not up on the official libertarian stance on that, maybe there isn't one or maybe I don't care. My instinct tells me though that libertarians are probably not for raping and pillaging the environment and the animals contained therein.
They[libertarians] aren't for torturing animals but they don't want laws that would prevent or punish it.
Bullshit.

So narco libertarians are in favor of torturing animals? Is that what you mean to say?
I have come to the conclusion that Libertarians hold beliefs that are diametrically opposed to each other.

I've never heard of narco libertarians. In fact i'm pretty sure you made it up.
But libertarians are not in favor of torturing animals. And it's pretty idiotic to suggest that they are.
Now that Michael Vick is out of prison, perhaps we can have a conversation as to why he was arrested in the first place. I take the position that animals are private property and that as long as Michael Vick peaceably acquired the dogs, it's nobody's right to tell him what he can and cannot do with his possessions.

they are however against laws punishing those who torture animals.

Thanks for being honest.
Dishonest? Ya in the sense that they fall short of admitting that they are selfish and short sighted. Dishonest that they know some projects take the full participation of americans even for our very survival but stupidly lay claim to their ideoligy over the good and preservation of us all. If they were honest they would stop using public services such as water and sewer and fire and police and refuse to pay taxes. They could just telephone their non-libertarian friends to log on to the internet and bitch for them because of course this is a shared funtion of our society.
