Did some research a few years ago for a new fast food business plan that included fresh cut french fries as a menu item. Back then - no idea if things have changed - if you wanted to promote the use of "Idaho" potatoes they'd best be grown in Idaho or their potato growers' association, or whatever it was called, would raise a stink. Don't recall the details now but they had what sounded like valid arguments about things like climate, soil, etc. that couldn't be duplicated elsewhere, or so they claimed.
