Do as I say, not as I do

Thomas Jefferson puts Algore to shame. A vocal advocate for abolition before the Revolution, but 'owned' hundreds of slaves.

I'd have to say that anybody who is a chickenhawk certainly fit fits the bill.

Of course I might be just a tad touchy about that rather common human foible.

Almost forgot Osama bin Laden. Women should walk around covered head-to-toe in bedsheets. Porn collection!

"Do as I say, not as I do"

In your opinion, is this particular brand of arrogance more prevalent among democrats or republicans? Please cite examples to support your opinion.

Probably Republicans. With Democrats, you pretty much know where they stand. With Republicans, you just don't know. Most say they a balanced budget and smaller government, but we've found out that's a lie.

I'd agree with Skull. Al Gore is a global hypocrite. Everyone else pales into insignificance in comparison.

Whatever floats your boat.

But for the record, I didn't ask who was the 'biggest' hypocrite (i'm inclined to agree that it might be Al), I asked whether this brand of arrogance was more prevalent among dems or reps.

Personally, I don't see any difference between the two parties. Each has more than their far share of hypocrites, because both parties are made up of human beings - and we all have feet of clay. We seem to expect perfect morals of others, but expect others to accept our individual failings. That, in itself, is hypocritical.

Neither party has any moral high ground. But.... individually, Gore has to be the standard bearer for hypocrisy.

Very good point. I think it's human nature to have those thoughts. Everybody has been guilty of that at one point or another. And I don't think one party has the moral high ground over the other-since they're both completely sunken in corruption and unethical practices.
