Do a large number or guns deter the mass shooter?

I'm not for gun control.....but the thread premise is destroyed by the fact that mass shootings have happened on military bases.

If I remember correctly Fort Hood was a gun free zone where soldiers were not permitted to be armed.

A) How many on-base mass shootings of unarmed GI's have occurred outside of a war zone? Find the answer here.


B) Changing policy based on one incident makes as much sense as millions of travelers removing their underwear because of one underwear bomber -- uh, I mean shoes.


If gun free military bases are your best example of mass shootings in gun free zones -- you're gunna lose.

Statistically, an extremely high number of people who attend gun shows will be involved in gun violence -- suicide, homicide, injury, or accidental death of a child playing with a parents gun.

Yeah, owning a gun is like putting a lightening rod on your head and going outside during a thunderstorm.

BS. The vast, vast, vast majority of shooting in this nation are done by inner city thugs and re-peat offender felons, and they have NEVER attended a gun show in their life. If you care to, you can try to post some actaul statistics to support your dumbass "theory" but don't waste too much time looking for them, as you won't find any to support that bs statement.

99% of ALL persons on a military base are UNARMED you sillyvillian moron. With even the slightest knowledge of where the few, very few armed people are on a military base, usually at the gates, the range, sensitive structures and a few roving patrols, there are very few places in the nation where you can be more sure of having a captive, UNARMED audience. They want to inflict the maximum amount of damage as quickly as possible. They know they could be shot dead at any moment, so death is not something that worries them.
Its probable that they would target areas which have a no gun policy, as there is less chance of them being shot dead before they can inflict damage, but then again, maybe they just don't care whether someone has a gun or not?
