Dissolve the Union!

We should restructure the country at least All liberals on this side of the room ... All conservatives on this side of the room.

That would be inhumane, they would have to fend for themselves and we know how that turns out.

I don't know about that. Since the Red states are the biggest recipients of Federal Tax dollars and the Blue states are footing the bill I think you'd find just the opposite.

The "right" believes in LIMITED federal government control of the daily lives of all U.S. citizens, and believes that the individual states are tasked with lion's share of passing laws pertaining to their own citizens.

The "left" believes that the federal government is the "Wizard Of Oz", and should control all facets of the daily lives of U.S. citizens (and non-U.S. citizens, for that matter). Just don't look behind the curtain.

Please speak only for yourself. Your second paragraph above shows that you would not know what "the left" believes it if shook hands with you on the street.

Which is more inline with the constitution than taxing citizens to pay for food and housing, beer and drugs for other citizens.
so your statement isn't altogether true; and second, that a state government can be at least as tyrannical as the federal one, if not more so.
True, but at the state level you escape the tyranny, at the federal level you cannot.

But if they split up then the State Government becomes the Federal. Right? Then what?

Why is that?

True, but at the state level you escape the tyranny, at the federal level you cannot.

Of course you can, especially nowadays. Just emigrate to another country. Anyway, a lot of the points of disagreement between us involve restraints on state government imposed by the Supreme Court and/or by Congress, e.g. the Civil Rights Act or the Roe decision. To complain that the Constitution and the Courts do not allow the states to oppress the people is hardly complaining that the federal government is doing so.

He didn't say the government cannot produce jobs, he said they cannot produce private sector jobs.

I know what he said, and he's wrong. If you've ever worked for a defense contractor or for a building contractor working on a government project, you know he's wrong from experience.

The federal government at any time is oppressing at least half the people. States would oppress none of the people since those who disagree with a state policy would be able to go to a different state. That's why there was a provision for state's rights.

Define "oppress."

Your second sentence can be applied to the federal government as well, to mean that it never oppresses anyone. I think black people in Georgia in 1955 might take exception to it.

Do you take issue with the 14th Amendment, then, and the idea of inclusion?

The right says that the federal government cannot do anything. We are told by the right, that the federal government cannot produce a job: only the free market can produce jobs. We are told that the federal government is an unworkable problem by the right. If the right is right, why does the right defend the federal government in the first place – as it is irrational to declare a government unworkable and at the same time fly its flag and defend it with blood and treasure?

Why not just dissolve the United States of America, and grant the fifty states full independence. If the right says it does not work, then, just dissolve the United States of America. Sure, the fifty states would not all accept being free independent countries. They have the right to join other states to forum their own countries. Then again, maybe having a number of independent countries coming out of the dissolving of the United States of America would please the left and the right.

What might be best, is to remove the American flag with fifty stars and thirteen red and white stripes and replace it with our state flag.

My only conclusion is that you are an illegal alien, and you have never read the U.S. Constitution and the 27 amendments.

And, of course, the leftist Kool-Aid drinkers use the "all or nothing" argument, simply because it's all they have.
Thank your creator if you believe in that stuff that the "Wizard of Oz" was around during the Great Depression. There is a place and time for division and this time we need to stand together to figure this crap out. Petty arguments are a waste of energy and distracts us from the serious issues of job creation. The fed is printing money like it is nothing, oh yeah it is worthless. Our trade partners are screwing us. Wages are not keeping up with inflation, schools are bullshit, and on and on. Both left and right are vested in the concerns of big money my friend so to hell with them. It is time to take back the conversation among ourselves outloud in social media like this and leave them in their quiet rooms. Let them believe they are in charge and in the meantime we resolve the issues without them. When we as people come to conclusions using intelligent conversation we then tell them to do the paperwork. They are no more useful for solutions rather they should be retained as clerks for the people of the United States. They knew the internet intrusion was not acceptable and changed their mind real quick. We have the ability to have our voices heard. We will never agree on everything, however I believe very few individuals hope for ill will of any of their fellow Americans.
