Disgusting… Big Spender Obama Lectures America On “Living Within Our Means”

Oh I cant wait until Andy Roonys 20/20 on in internet bullying ..

I suppose Gilligans Island is only funny when they say it is....

mmmm...

Bush's last deficit was bigger than Obama's first. You are a brainwashed moron. Change the channel.
Luckily, only 35% believe this crappe, going down with a bullet.
the only problem I have with Bush funding a war is that we did not utterly destroy the middle east !!

I'm glad people are seeing this now finally...

I suppose people were still dunk on the hope and change bullshit during the first stimulus.

You know - that time when he had all his buddies in congress but did nothing but spend.....

Then he comes back and has the fucking audacity to blame republicans for his failure..

He had everything he needed to allegedly fix what he said he was going to fix - instead he bailed out the unions.

I'm dumbfounded that anyone even supports his snake ass anymore..

One would have to be a serious Marxist or an idiot to support Obama at this point..

During his election I continually said a vote for Obama would be a vote for the death of the Bill of Rights and a vote for the death of capitalism..

No one listened to me - they were drunk on hope and change.

Where is all the hope and change now???

In the unions pockets, that's where.

Why don't you and 50,000,000 of your buddies go ahead and admit you just don't like his color! He could tell John Bainor or Mitch McConnel that they had a nice smile and they would immediately go and shoot theirselves in the face.(Bill Maher)

Sigh,, another asshole plays his tattered race card. How fucking unique!

We aren't going to lie to you simply to satisfy your unwillingness to actually look at what Obama's doing and analyze his policies. We have too much integrity to that. Why dont you just admit that you are too lazy to actually think critically of the man?

Well the stats are not in your favor---:cuckoo:

Clinton spent 432 million dollars a day.
Bush spent 1.6 BILLIION dollars a day.

And Barack Obama is spending 4.3 BILLION dollars a day. In fact Barack Obama has spent more in 2 years that Bush did in 8 years.

I'm a capitalist hes a socialist...

I oppose and HAVE opposed every fucking collectivist I have identified as a collectivist and I will continue to do so...

Race has nothing to do with socialism and capitalism.

It's just a good excuse for progressive socialism failure.

I love the ignorance on the left....
Indeed. NONE of them sides with individual liberty. They prefer to be lumped and herded into groups like the good little sheep that they are.

What few understand is that I bust their balls because I have to...

1 billion dollars--$100.00 bills stacked on palets. Barack Obama spends 4.3 of these a DAY.

You are highly misled. Top 8 Pub lies you believe:

1) President Obama tripled the deficit.
Reality: Bush's last budget had a $1.416 trillion deficit. Obama's first budgetreduced that to $1.29 trillion.
2) President Obama raised taxes, which hurt the economy.
Reality: Obama cut taxes. 40% of the "stimulus" was wasted on tax cuts which only create debt, which is why it was so much less effective than it could have been.
3) President Obama bailed out the banks.
Reality: While many people conflate the "stimulus" with the bank bailouts, the bank bailouts were requested by President Bush and his Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO Henry Paulson. (Paulson also wanted the bailouts to be "non-reviewable by any court or any agency.") The bailouts passed and began before the 2008 election of President Obama.
4) The stimulus didn't work.
Reality: The stimulus worked, but was not enough. In fact, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the stimulus raised employment by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million jobs.
5) Businesses will hire if they get tax cuts.
Reality: A business hires the right number of employees to meet demand. Having extra cash does not cause a business to hire, but a business that has a demand for what it does will find the money to hire. Businesses want customers, not tax cuts.
6) Health care reform costs $1 trillion.
Reality: The health care reform reduces government deficits by $138 billion.
7) Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, is "going broke," people live longer, fewer workers per retiree, etc.
Reality: Social Security has run a surplus since it began, has a trust fund in the trillions, is completely sound for at least 25 more years and cannot legally borrow so cannot contribute to the deficit (compare that to the military budget!) Life expectancy is only longer because fewer babies die; people who reach 65 live about the same number of years as they used to.
8) Government spending takes money out of the economy.
Reality: Government is We, the People and the money it spends is on We, the People. Many people do not know that it is government that builds the roads, airports, ports, courts, schools and other things that are the soil in which business thrives. Many people think that all government spending is on "welfare" and "foreign aid" when that is only a small part of the government's budget.

You don't pay very close attention do you? In the last 10 years the wealthy have quadrupled their worth while when adjusted for inflation what used to be the middle class has lost money. Just how rich do you want the assholes to get?
It is none of your concern how much anyone else makes...Mind your fucking business. Instead of worrying about what every one else is doing, take care of yourself.
You libs are always looking over the fence to see if your neighbor is violating one of your little PC rules.
How much money your neighbor or the guy across town makes has ZERO affect on you or anyone else.

Republicans only worry about spending when the "other team" is in office.

They blame Obama for 2009, which was the Bush budget.

They blame Obama for Tarp, which was written by the Bush team, and represents the greatest bailout in American history.

When Reagan more than doubled Carter's deficits, we didn't hear a peep.

When Bush doubled the Clinton deficits and turned a surplus into the greatest meltdown in half a century, we didn't hear a peep.

When the next Republican administration doubles the Obama deficits, we won't hear a peep.

The unfunded Bush Wars and tax cuts have finally come home to roost.

Nobody is fooled.

People say you cannot blame Bush. I say why not? He's still in office.

Our healthcare continues to go down the drains every time we strike another wedge in between the doctor and the patient. Think back to some of the interventions into the market like the rise of the HMO's, that came from government. In the midst of a depression the prices of healthcare should be falling as firms compete for a smaller groups of customers. If prices are rising in healthcare and even education it is the young economists first sign of an intervention into the marketplace.

Good points about intervention and the government wedge between doctor and patient.

Respectfully, sir, please consider some other forms of intervention.

The large insurers have dumped billions of dollars into Washington in order to bypass anti-trust laws and thus divide the country into fixed, no-compete zones, essentially allowing them to avoid market discipline.

[I must confess: I'm not innocent in this, but I'm also not naive. Meaning: the conservative part of my portfolio does not contain risky start ups. Many of my companies have monopoly pricing power which is enabled by government. This is what makes them a safe bet; this is what protects my money. Friend, respectfully, you need to study the relationship of say an LLY to government so you can form a more nuanced concept of intervention. The government exclusively represents their corporate financial backers, for whom they write laws and regulations which govern competition. As a shareholder, I (sadly) advocate the targeting (lobbying) of government in order to secure a market advantage over consumers - i.e., intervention. Obama doesn't work for unions; he works for the other side, Goldman Sachs (despite what the idiot left thinks). Politicians don't serve the poor (who can't afford lobbyists); nope, politicians serve the interests which put them in office and provide highly paid post-government jobs. Research the resume of Al Gore (w/Apple Computer & alternative energy) or Dick Chaney (Halliburton) or the underground tunnel between the GOP congress and big pharma. Government is a bridge to massive corporate largess . . . (or do you trust politicians to take care of average, hard working Americans? Certainly not: government is 100% owned by Big Business, which is why its chief function is to subsidize and bailout corporations - to provide them with the legal and regulatory leverage to fleece consumers)]

Do you know why corporations often invest more in the political and regulatory apparatus than new technology? Because creating an anticompetitive advantage over consumers is often the best way to increase money for shareholders. Remember: we don't tell corporations to save the world. We don't tell corporations to lobby Washington in order to create an environment of perfect competition (which is a myth). We tell them to secure a higher return no matter what. The goal of BlueCross is to lock down 90% of North Dakota so that they can raise rates without fear of losing customers.

Here is your problem, respectfully sir. Your information sources don't explain how much BlueCross or Kaiser invests in Washington, and how this investment represents a massive intervention in the market. Your information sources do not fully explain the partnership of big business with big government. Nor do you realize the role of the media, which is paid by big business to scream socialism any time someone attempts to investigate or change this anti-competitive nightmare.

Capital realized a funny thing in the 80s. Buying politicians and media can often lead to higher returns than risky investment in new technology.

Son, we have been seduced by a very seductive fantasy, which is this: the best way for a company to increase market share is to offer a better product. The problem with creating a better product is that it requires risk. Moreover, taking risks means you could fail and lose money for shareholders. Why not simply pay Washington to create a fixed, no-compete territory so that you are not forced to make risky investments in order to retain customers? Why not divide up regions with your competitors so that you are all insulated from the downside of competition? If you do this, you can raise premiums at 5 times the rate of inflation, and you can shrink coverage without the threat of another company stealing your customers. Remember: your job is to capture money for shareholders not win an ethics contest.

Better still: because you have invested in talk radio and FOX News, you can convince well-meaning idiots that anybody who desires to expose your corruption is a socialist. Meanwhile, you quietly dump billions into the pockets of politicians so they will intervene in the market and protect your market share. All you need to do is fund the candidacy of politicians who play ball, and destroy the ones who don't.

(Son, you've been terribly lied to. Worse: those lies have literally destroyed a great nation)

Not for nothing, but it's really amazing how this president has been able to lecture about the deficit..

He starts off every speech saying he inherited a trillion dollar deficit, because of 2 wars and a prescription drug plan for seniors, all paid for on the credit card...

He is projected to spend by March 2011, more than any other president has in two terms, before he finishes his first term.

I know politics is a business where perception is the key, but even in politics, one should have morals, and his lecturing and lack of any accountability, has been nothing short of shameful...I don't know how he sleeps at night.

:clap2: Very Nice. I apologize if the post was short and lacking necessary specifics, but its hard to gauge people who are looking to have a discussion compared to those that just want to wave a flag.

I agree with you and remember what Bastiat spoke of that Capitalism will destroy itself and move into socialism. As the businesses in the capitalist system lobby government to prevent any competition with them and levy burdens and restrictions to new entries into their segment of the marketplace.

Kaiser and Blue Cross are an example of this, in no way is their success based on providing a superior product. They represent lobbying the right politicians and receiving benefits that no other business can provide by law. Also, we need to look at how the doctors have lobbied to be the sole provider in care in many treatments that could be offered in private facilities by health techs for much less and provide greater quality.

While keeping this post a post, the best example I can think of is looking at laser eye surgery and breast augmentation industries that are more market oriented then the major HMO's.

Great Discussion.
