No they aren't. They are competing theories because they are based on different assumptions, not different vantage points.

don't flatter yourself, everyone gets bored with your know it all, prechy, close minded attitude.....you all remind me of the door to door religous salespeople....there is your way and then all the other wrong ways.....

Actually manu, only the closed minded anti-science people think that. And that's fine with me. Anyone who will accept the fruits of science but reject its conclusions when it doesn't suit their religion, declaring themselves to possess the scientific knowledge to reject theories which do not suit them based on nothing more than their religious beliefs (yet they rely on a meteorologist to tell them the likelihood of it raining 2 days from now), is closed minded.
