So, Reagan fought a secret war against the Russians with Iran as our ally and WON? Why is this not in the history books?

It's no secret that the Reagan Doctrine was to confront and push back Soviet expansion.

He confronted them in Europe, in the Middle East, in Latin America and he was so successful that he precipitated the collapse of the Democrat Party's hometeam.

With me so far?

Its a shame history didn't record it that way

Most of the credit was given to Gorbachev. The Soviet economy was in a shambles before Reagan even took office. Does that mean Jimmy Carter gets the credit?

American Librul Bizzaro History gives the "Credit" to Gorby because you can't admit that Reagan kicked your home teams ass all over the planet

Reagan handled the USSR like Pedro Martinez or Ron Guidry used to handle opposing batters and you guys are like the batters not crediting the pitcher but making lame excuses how "Jupiter's moon Io shined a light in my eyes"

Reagan spanked the USSR.

Reagan beat the USSR so completely he left them no choice but to come here and complete their takeover of the Democrat Party

When Regan became President, the Iranians crapped themselves and released the hostages, when Obama became President, the Iranians said he's funnier than the Marx Brothers
Very odd, don't you think, that on a split screen we saw Reagan sworn in and the hostages being released. Was a deal made prior to that? Did Bush go to meet with Iran prior?

Yes, on the SR-71 Blackbird, they keep it on the USS Intrepid docked in NYC.

Here's was the deal: Release the hostages or you'll be in a real shooting war with the USA

My next thread will be about Ronald Regean's thoughts on torture. (Here is a hint, he was against it).

He really would be a blue dog dem now days.

Fraid not Franky..

Independent Historians from around the world have come to the same conclusion. The USSR was a ship taking on water long before Reagan became President. It was Gorbachev who made the decision to not let that ship fight to the death before it sank

Question: If you had 5,000 nuke weapons and reduced that to 1,000 nuke weapons, couldn't you still annihilate your enemy?

Hey, did you see Michelle Bachmann saying we should use nuclear weapons on computer hackers?

Reagan objected to TORTURE??

What a leftist wimp

I'd like to nuke that Son of a Bitch that put a virus on my computer

So now these idiots are for nuclear weapons. They were against them when reagan was against them.

No matter what Obama is for, these morons are against it.

Whats next, tax cuts for the rich ......AGAIN!

Some American Libertarians brag about this. Fortunately, Baker was able to talk Reagan into a moderate position on Nukes.

Ronald Reagan was not the primary reason why the wall fell. He was a late contributor (and some would say convert to liberal policies) to a long effort to expose the Soviets to western influences.

People can question your usefulness, but there's not a doubt about your idiocy

"Tear down this wall" is misunderstood?

Dia anyone ever answer the questions?

Howard Phillips of the Conservative Caucus branded Reagan "a useful idiot for Soviet propaganda."

and

Conservative columnist George Will pounded away at Reagan for having changed. "Four years ago, many people considered Reagan a keeper of the Cold War flame," he wrote in 1988. "Time flies. For conservatives, Ronald Reagan's foreign policy has produced much surprise, but little delight." Even Reagan's vice president, George H.W. Bush -- when he ran for president in 1988 -- suggested that Reagan had gone too far in his diplomacy with the Soviet leader.

gawd, you're a tool.

Poor Frank, is he still believing the myths about Reagan being so tough the Iranians and the Soviets ran away?

Reagan Fact: "In fact, there was no serious retaliation for the Beirut bombing from the Americans,[18] besides a few shellings."
