Was Mary sinless? Was Mary without sin?

    Was Mary sinless?

Question: "Was Mary sinless? Was Mary without sin?"

    Answer:
Mary the mother of Jesus was a godly and blessed woman, but she was not without sin. Jesus was the only human without sin. Jesus “had no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21). “In him is no sin” (1 John 3:5). Nothing of the sort is ever said of Mary or anyone else. Jesus Christ is fully human, but He is also fully God (John 1:1). He is the Lamb of God, “without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:19), a title and description no other person can claim.

As an ordinary part of the human race, born into the world the ordinary way, Mary was not without sin. Romans 3:23 teaches that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and there is nothing in the Bible to suggest that Mary was an exception to this rule. The apostle John wrote, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us” (1 John 1:8–10). The “we” in this passage includes Mary, the mother of Jesus. To claim Mary is without sin is an example of “deceit.”

To help bolster their teaching that Mary was sinless, the Roman Catholic Church has invented the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception (formally accepted as Catholic dogma in 1854). According to this false teaching, Mary was, from her very conception in her mother’s womb, “preserved free from all stain of original sin.” That is, Mary had no sinful nature. This doctrine is neither biblical nor necessary. The virgin-born Christ Jesus was free from the stain of original sin, but it was not necessary for His mother to be—or His grandmother—or His great-grandmother, etc. How far back would we have to go to insure Jesus’ perfection, if it were necessary for Mary to be sinless?

What Is The Placenta And What Does It Do?
The placenta has been described as a pancake-shaped organ that attaches to the inside of the uterus and is connected to the fetus by the umbilical cord. The placenta produces pregnancy-related hormones, including chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), estrogen, and progesterone.

The placenta is responsible for working as a trading post between the mother’s and the baby’s blood supply. Small blood vessels carrying the fetal blood run through the placenta, which is full of maternal blood. Nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood are transferred to the fetal blood, while waste products are transferred from the fetal blood to the maternal blood, without the two blood supplies mixing.

The placenta is expelled from the uterus in a process called the after-birth. One possible problem in pregnancy is placenta previa, where the placenta is attached near or over the cervix. As the fetus grows, pressure on the placenta can cause bleeding. This condition requires medical management to ensure a safe labor and delivery for you and your baby.

What Is The Umbilical Cord And What Does It Do?
The umbilical cord is the life-line that attaches the placenta to the fetus. The umbilical cord is made up of three blood vessels: two smaller arteries which carry blood to the placenta and a larger vein which returns blood to the fetus. It can grow to be 60 cm long, allowing the baby enough cord to safely move around without causing damage to the cord or the placenta.

After the baby is born, the cord is cut (something the baby’s father may wish to do); the remaining section will heal and form the baby’s belly button. During pregnancy you may find out the umbilical cord is in a knot, or is wrapped around a part of your baby’s body. This is common and cannot be prevented, and it usually does not pose any threats to the baby.

    Dear bear513
my understanding of the meaning of this "sinless" birth:
Jesus represents God's perfect justice that is "without BIAS"

So Jesus' perfect authority as UNIVERSAL JUSTICE
or Equal Justice for All means free of manmade bias.

Now all other people have biases and are not perfectly just.
Our knowledge is limited, our perceptions are biased,
we are not going to see or know right and wrong perfectly
    because we lack omniscience.

The purpose of embodying and embracing Christ Jesus
is to break the cycle of past sins or "karma" ie INJUSTICE.
So it takes PERFECT justice to
unite, correct, and heal all people and relations
after wrongs have caused generations of injury.

Jesus being the incarnation in man's world
of God's justice from a divine level means
that Jesus could not carry "karma" or "sin"
from past generations as everyone else does.
That would make him Biased toward answering
to those sins, instead of answering and redeeming
all of humanity's sins universally. The rest of us
are under conditions that we must resolve which
we were born into by our families, nations, etc.

Jesus didn't have this affecting him, so all his
sacrifice and purpose was to pay for humanity's
sins. He did not carry karma from the past, but
was born into this world to "break through the
karmic cycle of sins that would otherwise repeat"
and bring justice for lasting peace.

Thus Christ Jesus means "Restorative Justice" that leads to eternal heavenly peace
and brings an end to "Retributive Justice" that leads to endless hellish suffering.

So it sounds like you believe in the Immaculate Conception.

According to the beliefs of the early Christians Mary was born without sin and remained sinless her entire life and was assumed into heaven.

The whole theology revolves around the assumption that to have a sin nature requires the DNA of both parents together.

God simply implanted his own DNA inside Mary and she simply nursed him to term.

    I hadn’t heard that one.

It seems to me the argument would be based upon only a pure vessel can contain the spirit of God.

But see, Jesus gave us the Virgin Mary and she gave us Jesus.

I also wonder if she had the free will to say No to Gabriel ?
