Finger-pointing seems to be the primary pastime in Washington. Nobody in the current administration wants to admit that their new "kinder..friendlier" attitude has not made us safer but instead has returned us to a pre-9/11 footing. They're still trying kill us...this time with an explosive diaper. All of the kind words and bowing of the President hasn't changed the minds of those who want to kill Americans. All it has done is return us back to being an easy target.

They changed the names to put on a friendly less confrontational front, redefined what we were to call attacks and attackers and now we've had one security breach after another since Christmas. This weekend administration spokesmen still had that *Deer in the headlights* look on their faces because they just can't seem to grasp that their methods aren't working and will not work for one reason......they can't seem to identify threats for fear of offending someone..

So is Political Correctness a tool Al Qaeda uses to attack us? It wasn't so much who was to blame but what philosophy led to successful attacks.

Is Political Correctness making it easy to take a risk by returning GITMO prisoners to their home countries even when their home countries are the source of many of the terrorist threats?

Oh, I'm sorry...."Man-made disasters."

Is the War On Terror....oh I'm sorry...."Overseas Contingency Operation".....is all of this an exercise in futility because we currently have a President and an administration that can't see the threat for what it is because of Political Correctness?

Explain..

Isn't profiling a taboo?

Isn't profiling one of the best tools Israel uses to prevent attacks on airliners?

Isn't it a fact that the President and his state-run media is so afraid to actually identify attackers as terrorists one of the causes?

The Israelis don't profile in the sense you mean. They suspect everyone is a terrorist until convinced otherwise. They spend a lot more money on airport security than we do, percentage wise. If you are willing to pony up the money for this you should contact your representatives. I am unconvinced of the necessity at this time.

Ben Gurion International Airport is one of the world's most heavily secured airports.[32] Security operates on several levels.[33]

  • All cars, taxis, buses and trucks go through a preliminary security checkpoint before entering the airport compound. Armed guards spot-check the vehicles by looking into cars, taxis and boarding buses, exchanging a few words with the driver and passengers.
  • Armed security personnel stationed at the terminal entrances keep a close watch on those who enter the buildings. If someone arouses their suspicion or looks nervous, they may strike up a conversation to further assess the person's intent. Plainclothes armed personnel patrol the area outside the building, and hidden surveillance cameras operate at all times.[34]
  • Inside the building, both uniformed and plainclothes security officers are on constant patrol.
  • Departing passengers are personally questioned by security agents even before arriving at the check-in desk. This interview can last as little as five minutes, or as long as an hour if a passenger is selected for additional screening. Luggage and body searches may be conducted. After the search, bags are placed through an X-ray machine before passengers proceed to the check-in counters. All that said, El Al and Ben Gurion airport has for a long time realised that the person is more important than their bags.[citation needed] Therefore, occasionally, if security have assessed a person as a low risk, they will pass them straight through to the check-in desks, bypassing the main x-ray machines. Note that hand baggage is always x-rayed later on.
  • After check-in, checked baggage is put in a pressure chamber to trigger any possible explosive devices. Passengers continue through to personal security and passport control, as in other airports. Before passing through the metal detectors and placing hand baggage through the X-ray machine, passports are re-checked and additional questions may be asked. Before boarding the aircraft, passports and boarding passes are checked once again.
  • Security procedures for incoming flights are not as stringent, but passengers may be questioned by passport control depending on country of origin, or countries visited prior to arrival in Israel. Passengers who have recently visited countries at war with Israel (all Arab countries except Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania and Qatar) may be subject to further questioning.[35]

A retired Israeli security official said that profiling was a key security tool.

You can't keep the skies safe if you turn your head when a 22 year old who pays cash for his one-way ticket and has no bags to check in and has no valid visa wants to fly to America...but instead strip-searches Granny.

Yes, they profile mannerisms, not looks.

Nothing to do with political correctness.

So only specific factors can be taken into consideration.

Not ethnicity, not religion, not age, not the fact that he doesn't have any baggage.....just if he looks scared.

So first-time fliers are in for it.....even if they're 12.

The problem with your argument is that it ignores the obvious. It's an easy mark.

This has to be one of the dumbest fucking threads created in a while. We've been killing people in Iraq for twenty straight years. We've been killing people in Afghanistan for 8 years. Who the fuck is dumb enough to blame retaliation on "Political Correctness?" Gee Gomer, do you think it might be possible there is a price to pay when you kill innocent people? We haven even come close to paying that price yet and while I pray nothing happens the realist says what goes around.....really goes around.

Are you unable to read? The Israelis suspect EVERYONE is a potential terrorist. They talk to people, they put their luggage in pressure chambers...etc, etc.

Strangely, people traveling into Israel are not scrutinized to the same extent so I imagine that is a weakness waiting to be exploited. And we have the same weakness.

Obviously you don't actually have a solution other than to pretend that pcism is responsible for 9/11.

You're an idiot.

Toodles.

Because it's so obvious....but some just can't grasp the concept.

We didn't deserve this like you think.

The issue isn't whether we deserve to be attacked anyway.

Now the issue is what do we do now that we know we are going to be attacked....Act like we aren't???

And the ACLU, the major enforcers of PC, will try to make sure that any behavioral profiling is not allowed.
....

The ACLU of Massachusetts has questioned the use of behavioral pattern recognition out of concern that it increases the likelihood of racial profiling.

What a stupid case.

What is stupid about defending the Constitution?

I'm able to read. You suspect everyone...but you don't exclude specific groups because you don't want to offend them....which is what we're doing with Muslims.

Do you have any idea how many innocent civilians we have killed in iraq over the last 20 fucking years? Do you have any idea how many in afghanistan we have killed? Do you have any fucking clue about how much we help finance terrorism by our close alliance with Saudi Arabia? This issue is way way way way the fuck over the heads of people who think they can listen to soundbites or read a blurb and think they can speak with any type of knowledge on the topic. Look at this OP. It's just a stupid partisan rant that looks at the most ridiculous fucking things and actually pretends to put forth an explanation. I don't care if you (or anyone) thinks I'm a prick because that won't change the obvious fact you're fucking clueless about foreign policies and the results. Try educating yourself instead of the constant whining of America the Innocent.

Did Political Correctness Cause 9/ll??

Yes, it did.

American politicians have concluded that it is important to their careers to woe the zionist lobby. Hence they have been supporting the Palestinian genocide since circa 1947. In order to please Netanhayou , AIPAC and other Likudnicks the US invaded Iraq and Afpak.

.

I would say, PC is similar to sticking your head in the sand, afraid to define anything as it "REALLY IS". Masking, Camoflauging the truth of an event, person or thing so as to make it 'more pleasing' to the masses, making them feel 'more secure', non-inflaming names........in other words Bullshit.

Here's one from Texas A&M:
"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional,
illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream
media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible
to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Political correctness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Our politicians use it all the time,
PC--- A terribly misunderstood man with a bad childhood took out his rage on an airliner bound for______ killing 320 passengers. We need to give him a 'group huggy'
Translation--- A murdering terrorist 'sum beeech' blew up an airliner killing 320 innocent people all in the name of religion when we find him we'll kill the bastad on satellite TV in the same manner they do.

Kinda like the "Flame Zone" in USMB, using ones own interpretation in calling a turd a turd and a flower a flower.

I wonder what a movie made from say, 1789 to 1900,using the Politically Correct philosophy, and try to determine how the 'ending' would turn out.
