DCon...

What, in your estimation, would an attack the likes of 9/11 under Obama's watch play out like?
i would expect that Obama would respond to it and have the full support of nearly all Americans

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!

Too funny.

the idea that obama stole the 2008 election.

Its the economy...plain and simple. When people have their bellies and wallets full, they are happy. GW proved that when, after he started two wars, he was able to win re-election because the economy was decent.

If the unemplyment rate drops below 8.5% or lower by 2012, Obama will win a second term. If the rate is 9% or more, he will lose, and he will possibly lose to Hillary in primaries. She would then defeat any republican. I predict Palin in the Tea Party and Romney in the GOP. 2012 may be a three way race. Do you remember Perot?

i believe when barry took over unemployment was at about 7.9%. if it's still anywhere near 8, maybe even hear 7, he's still in trouble. it's hard to argue your economic policies are working when you inherit a real shitty situation and after 4 years only make it marginally better. his administration has already floated the idea that hte levels we're at now are the new "norms". not very promising.

i really have a hard time believing palin is going to run as a third party candidate. you may think she's stupid, but she knows she'll have a difficult time winning as the R candidate, to win as a third party candiate would be impossible.

The Clinton's stole the New Hampshire primary. This is the worst kept secret in politics.

Dude, you know I'm not a republican, right?

I'm very liberal. But your post still doesn't make sense. Just because 70% of people don't think he stole the election, it doesn't mean that those 70% of people support him or will vote for him.

There are sane republicans out there.

My argument is quite simple...Obama will have more than enough support come 2012 to win the election handily.

Unless something MIRACULOUS happens for the Republicans, like another attack the likes of 9/11 occurs on Obama's watch like it did on Bush's watch or something.
wait, you think another 9/11 type attack would hurt Obama?
but were you one of the ones claiming that the last one helped the sitting POTUS?

I would argue that a 9/11 type of attack guarantees a GOP win in 2012.

yes, republiKlans were dumb enough to lose to a community organizing Kenyan. Get your act together neoconvicts.

The Democrat Party and the Ku Klux Klan: Aside from the multiple Klan members who have served in elected capacity within the high ranks of the Democrat Party, the political party itself has a lengthy but often overlooked history of involvement with the Ku Klux Klan. Though it has been all but forgotten by the media, the Democrat National Convention of 1924 was host to one of the largest Klan gatherings in American history. Dubbed the "Klanbake convention" at the time, the 1924 Democrat National Convention in New York was dominated by a platform dispute surrounding the Ku Klux Klan. A minority of the delegates to the convention attempted to condemn the hate group in the party's platform, but found their proposal shot down by Klan supporters within the party. As delegates inside the convention voted in the Klan's favor, the Klan itself mobilized a celebratory rally outside. On July 4, 1924 one of the largest Klan gatherings ever occurred outside the convention on a field in nearby New Jersey. The event was marked by speakers spewing racial hatred, celebrations of their platform victory in the Democrat Convention, and ended in a cross burning.

Yes 85 years ago the Democratic Party was biggoted. Southern Democrats in the 1960s were also biggots. But what happened to those 1960s biggots? They all switched to the Republican Party and are firmly entrenched in the movement

Unemployment was 5.9% when he took over. I'm sick and tired of this "inherited" nonsense. That supposes that Obama never served a day in the Senate. He voted for every spending bill that put us in the red and he helped spend every cent and supported every stupid protest bill that the Dems gave Bush the two years leading up the 08' crash. He and the Dems saw this crash coming as early as 03' and they refused to do anything to stop it....so Obama inherited nothing. As a matter of fact from all indications....they encouraged it.

You realize that unemployment is a classic lagging indicator and the economy pretty much crashed right before he was elected, yes?

That's the rumor.....and it is a false one.

The Dems changed their image but the bigots still remain.

All you have to do is quote them to know this is true. Quotes from Hillary and Biden proves it.

Remember Hillary's plantation speech....and Bidens "Clean and articulate" comment.

for rightwinger None of these have switched party's and are not in the past racist.
Lee P. Brown: Brown, Bill Clinton's former drug czar and Democrat mayor of Houston, engaged in racist campaigning designed to suppress Hispanic voter turnout during his 2001 reelection bid.

Andrew Cuomo: Cuomo, Bill Clinton's former Housing Secretary and a prominent Democrat political player in New York, was tape recorded using racially inflamatory rhetoric to build opposition to a potential Democrat primary opponent while speaking to a Democrat group. Cuomo stated that voting for his rival for the New York Democrat gubernatorial nomination Carl McCall, who is black, would create a "racial contract" between Black and Hispanic Democrats "and that can't happen." Upon initial reports, Cuomo denied the statement but later a tape recording surfaced. Cuomo later dropped out of the race for governor

Representative Dick Gephardt, D-MO: Gephardt, the former Democrat Minority Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, gave several speeches to a St. Louis area hate group during his early years as a representative. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Gephardt spoke before the Metro South Citizens Council, a now defunct white supremacist organization, during his early years as a congressman. Newsmax.com further reported that Gephardt had openly asked the group for an endorsement of his candidacy during one of his many visits with the organization. Gephardt has long avoided questions about his past affiliation with this group.

Cragg Hines: Hines is one of the most rabidly partisan DC based Democrat editorial columnists to work for a major newspaper, and he makes no attempts to hide it. To Hines, pro-lifers are "neanderthals," as is often the case with those who differ in opinion with him.

Mary Frances Berry: Berry is the Democrat chair of the US Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR). She purports herself to be an "independent" in her political affiliation in order to hold her job on the civil rights commission where partisan membership may not exceed 4 for either party, but is in fact a dedicated liberal Democrat who openly supported Al Gore for president and has given a total of $20,000 in personal contributions to the Democrat Party, Al Gore for President, and other Democrat candidates over the last decade.

Billy McKinney: Former Democrat State Representative Billy McKinney of Georgia, who is also the father of former Democrat congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of the same state. During his daughter's failed 2002 reelection bid, McKinney appeared on television where he blamed his daughter's difficulties on a Jewish conspiracy. McKinney unleashed a string of anti-semitic sentiments, stating "This is all about the Jews" and spelling out "J-E-W-S." McKinney lost his own seat in a runoff a few weeks later.

really,? when did Byrd or Fulbright join the GOP?
or Wallace?

Obama didn't steal the 2008 election, it was lost by the GOP when they let the dems get away with scamming Fannie & Freddie and other scams. Then the GOP passed the "American Jobs Creation Act" which simply moved jobs overseas faster by creating tax breaks. The GOP deserved to lose the 2008 election, not that the dems deserved the opportunity to govern (as proven by the last 2-years).

Until some party figures out how to make US manufacturing competitive again, the US standard of living will continue to decline.
