Did Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid deliberately trash the economy?

Then the Democrats came along and that was the end of that.

Bush wasn't great but he is not the president but he did have to deal with Nancy and Harry. The dem's have no idea on what to do or how to do it.

You hit on something very important.

Regardless of how we got here, it is painfully clear to any reasonable observer that Democrats haven't the foggiest idea on what to do, going forward.

Shellack the Sequel coming in '12!

and no wonder Obama and the Statists are catching hell with the slogan "FOWARD".

why did the Bush SEC refuse to fully implement the GLBact?

can any of you cons answer that?

Let's deal with reality here.
The Dems were sworn in and took control of congress in January 2007. The GOP/Bush budget ended on October 1st 2007. The country officially went into a recession in December 2007 after two successive quarters of negative growth.
The Dems did nothing to trash the economy because Dems do nothing all the time, Good or bad times, the Dems do nothing. The GOP is the party of NO, the Dems are the party of doing nothing.

Not really true.

For example...

Pelosi - in her first officlal act, jacked up the young person's minimum wage 40% over the howls of the Republicans who told her doing so always kills jobs.

We had full employment at the time. 2 years later:

"The unemployment rate for young Americans has exploded to 52.2 percent -- a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Dept. -- meaning millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be diminished and, combined with the predicted slow economic recovery, their transition into productive members of society could be put on hold for an extended period of time.

And worse, without a clear economic recovery plan aimed at creating entry-level jobs, the odds of many of these young adults -- aged 16 to 24, excluding students -- getting a job and moving out of their parents' houses are long. Young workers have been among the hardest hit during the current recession -- in which a total of 9.5 million jobs have been lost. "

The left is using that failed argument this year a lot: anything that happened during the fiscal year of the previous administration belongs to the previous administration even if the current administration does it.

Unfotunately, the sheep are biting.

I'm sure the record number of Pub filibusters, including when Pubs say Obama had a filibuster-proof supermajority, have nothing to do with Dems doing little, just the most important social program and financial reform (not implimented due to Pubs) ever, in the 6 months they actually had. Or have they ruined the economy with their action? LOL!:eusa_liar::cuckoo:

Everything you know is Pubcrappe, silly tools of greedy incompetent rich/corporations.

The OP refers to the last Bush years, in other words 2007-2008. Thusly, my post is accurate. Also, how can Dood/Franks be blamed, the GOP had control of the House all of the time during that timeframe from 1994 through January 2007 and they alsao controlled the Senate most of the time, plus the presidency. But I'm not going to blsame the GOP, I blame the lenders and the those who bought homes during the early 2000's.
