Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to destroy the assault-style rifles and accessories it agreed to take off its shelves in February instead of returning them to manufacturers.

It is the latest action taken by the Pennsylvania retailer that agreed to ban the sale of assault-style rifles at its 35 Field & Stream stores, and to stop selling firearms and ammunition to anyone younger than 21.

And their customer base as well.

As a publicly traded company, they have stepped over the line. Shareholders have invested their money in the company and the management is saying "Demonstrating our opinion on guns is more important than your investment in us". You can bet a shareholder lawsuit is brewing.

I was thinking the same thing , how could you destroy millions ? Of dollars in inventory with out the stock holders being pissed off, I don't get it.

They made enough profit on the ones they sold to well pay for what little they will trash.

Whatever. Their problem not mine. It won't stop anyone from buying a rifle or ammo and they just cost themselves a ton of money. Sounds like really dumb liberals run this company.
