With just 5.5 million people, the system is efficient, and people feel "tryghed" -- the Danish word for "tucked in" -- like a snug child.
Those high taxes have another effect. Since a banker can end up taking home as much money as an artist, people don't chose careers based on income or status. "They have this thing called 'Jante-lov,' which essentially says, 'You're no better then anybody else,'" said Buettner. "A garbage man can live in a middle-class neighborhood and hold his head high."

The President is not a Socialist. Calling for higher progressive taxes on the rich (ie a max out at 35% was it?) may be a cheap populous ploy to get reelected that won't solve any real problems, but it certainly doesn’t make Obama a socialist. Calling for a 30%ish tax rate on capital gains does not make you a socialist. Calling for Government run Healthcare that still has many aspects run by private insurers does not make you a socialist.

Until Obama starts forcing every employer in the united states to start redistributing its profits equally amongst the employees who produce, or until he calls for maybe an 80-90% tax rate on the richest Americans so that it can be redistributed by the government, I’m not buying the socialist label. I still don’t agree. You can’t say that, “theoretically someone would do this if…” and then pass that off as proof that someone is or isn’t a marxist/socialist. From the words that I’ve heard come out of Obama’s mouth, and the policies he’s supported/not supported, I’ve concluded that his actions and initiatives to date do not in any way prove that Obama is a marxist.

Supporting Universal Healthcare does not make one a Marxist. There's still a thriving intellectual debate on whether or not Healthcare is one of those few things that government can run more effectively than the private market – like police dept - for people on the left and right alike. The argument is, when consumers know nothing of price/quality of treatment, how is this going to drive efficiency in a healthcare market? Healthcare is an extremely unique area of economics. Saying that you want government run healthcare is not the same as saying that you want the government to take over all internet companies, or all grocery stores, ect.

Though I don’t agree with the President’s or Hillary’s approach to gun control, I don’t think they’re “marxists” for supporting these initiatives by any means. Their approach may be unconstitutional, but it does not qualify them as a “marxist”.
