Actually, only partisans would bother putting Obama into a list of the "greatest" Presidents after only a year and a half.

Nope , he has accomplished alot , you just hate the accomplishments he gained

You don't even understand how the monetary system, then or now, works.

Just quit while you're behind.

Pretending I dont understand is silly.

The program for buyback included getting $20.67 for every troy ounce.

They could have recieved it in cash.

How the fuck much did they own?
I don't have to pretend anything.

You saying that they got worthless fiat script for their gold coin (which is where we get the term "cold cash") as "cash", tells anyone and everyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the monetary system that you have NFI what you're talking about.

But please, carry on...I have a kind of sick fascination with watching dumb dogs, who don't know where the end of their rope is, continue to try and chase passing cars.

cant answer now can you?

Silver , nickel and copper are precious metals huh?

Whether I agree with his accomplishments or not is irrelevant. The fact is that he's not even halfway through his first term and to compare him to Presidents who had their full terms is ridiculous.

And that is part of the point, he has done more in a year and a half than many presidents have done in a full term.

It makes him especially good

oddballs family was either stupid or he lied about them having gold.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Certificate

Silver Certificates are a type of representative money printed from 1878 to 1964 in the United States as part of its circulation of paper currency.[1] They were produced in response to silver agitation by citizens who were angered by the Fourth Coinage Act, which had effectively placed the United States on a gold standard. The certificates were initially redeemable in the same face value of silver dollar coins, and later in raw silver bullion. Since 1968 they have been redeemable only in Federal Reserve Notes and are thus obsolete, but are still valid legal tender.

If you have one today they are worth more than face value to collectors

Only in the eyes of a true partisan.

No idiot , its abotu how much he has gotten done NOT wether you like politically what he has done.

Jesus man pulll your head out of ron pauls ass

I wonder how much better off my family might have been if the gov't would've shyed away from socialism in the first place :eusa_whistle:

My immediate family didn't benefit from the "Raw Deal", they lived on farms and didn't do any of the public works jobs or anything but it was a sign of the times, government creates programs, people are basically forced to go on these programs and anyone who bitches about it is a hypocrite.
farm families were not helped by the general policies of FDR or by the New Deal specifically? I wonder what state your family lived in.

So benefiting from a program and bitching about it is not hypocrisy?

Name the program your family or someone you know was forced -- forced to enroll in.

Social Security and later on, Medicare.

We play the hand we are dealt in society, I think a ton of government policies are a waste but I gotta deal with them the best I can if I choose to reside here in the "Land of the Free"(which is an outdated phrase)

My Family lives in Louisiana, it doesn't take a government to raise a garden to eat from, a chicken to lay an egg or a cow to milk.

Perhaps America wasn't helped at all, they just think they were and are, the dollar's value has eroded 98% since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, that in and by itself did nothing to help the common man.
The world before Social Security and Medicare, and the world after.

case closed.

ad no credible leader has ever called for dismantling SS and Med. Maybe privatizing it or altering it closing them?

:cuckoo:

Speaking of birdbrains...:lol::lol::lol:

My word ???

Hey fucking liar, I prooved they could have gotten another precious metal instead of what you call fiat currency.

You gave nothing but story

But should the government be in the business of creating programs that help a small minority to the detriment of everyone else? I'm sorry, but I find destroying perfectly good food and slaughtering animals for no reason while the people suffer to be silly.

your premise: to the detriment. bad

if crops were subject to supply and demand an farmers went out of business and the farm economy collapsed. more people would be hurt for longer. and the US would lose big r=time.

the fact that people go without and the destroyed crops could be used (oh wait they are in some cases -- government surplus food... my bad, and yours). ...............

you are mixing issues. the national government has a duty to protect the union.

Your notion that the national government has no duty here is wrongheaded. The federal government's responsibility is to keeping the union from being dissolved by 'angry vindictive persons.'. -Jefferson's buddy Justice Johnson

So the farm economy would have collapsed, because as prices went down and their products became more affordable people wouldn't have bought them?

Destroyed crops could be used? Keyword being destroyed.

No, the federal government has a duty to protect liberty.

Like Jefferson, you live in a dream world were agrarianism is some kind of mythical utopia -- it's not and it never was.

The federal government has a duty to only protect liberty?

And this thread has nothing to do with liberty.

We fought your ideas long ago. With Jefferson/Madison and Marshall and with the traitorous insurrection commonly know as the Confederate rebellion.
