The arguement begins with a statement : "God intended us to lust after one another and built safegards into the brain to ensure the species."

The rebuttle : "No, to lust is wrong and we must strive to be like the spirit above affairs of the flesh. then into some quote from Paul about if a man burns then he should take a wife or something like that."

The reply : "Look, there are some people you are attracted to and others your not, who knows why, maybe it's pheremones. Everyone has lust in their heart but it is so subtle it's unnoticed. There is a reason you dress the way you do, groom the way you do, and smell the way you do, and it's not because you want to talk scripture."

The rebuttle : "The bible says..."

The bottom line : The bible can say anything it wants to but the facts are this.
One, people are attrcated to who they are gonna be attracted to and you can't do anything about it. It's hard wired into the brain.
Two, it is understood that we are different from the animals because we can choose when and whom to have sex, but when we do, morality and the bible have nothing to do with our choices. It's hard wired into the brain.
Three, the next time someone says being gay is a choice or you can get talked into it, ask yourself these questions. How much gay porn would you have to watch, before you thought it might be a hoot to have gay sex?...What arguement could be made to get you to have gay sex, that you would agree to?...How long would you have to go without sex before you broke down and said ok I'll give it a shot?... It's hardwired into the brain you are gay or you are not.
Fourth, in the end the descision is always a physical one, not a spiritual one.
Finally, There is a reason for everything and if you really believe that God made us in his likeness, gave us wants and desires and made us everything that we are mentally and emotionally...Then the bible wants us to act against god's initial intentions when he created us."

So the question is which did God make stronger a persons sexual desire or their will power?

"God" made sexual desire stronger in the young and will power to abstain stronger in the old.

You don't know that, yet?

You will, believe me, you will.

"Will power" used in avoidance of something is useless.

To prove this, summon up all of your human will power and don't think of a big red stop sign....How long did that take?

In this and every other model you wish to posit, desire will always overpower "will power" to avoid.

What argument are you talking about? I am not privy to the voices inside your head, so I need more details. I have never before seen anyone argue that God intended for us to lust after one another.

I have seen some argue that we have both sexual desire and willpower, and that it is actually possible to control our desire so that we do not have sex with everyone we meet. No one has ever proven that position wrong, so why are we even discussing it at all?

The bottom line : The bible can say anything it wants to but the facts are this.
One, people are attrcated to who they are gonna be attracted to and you can't do anything about it. It's hard wired into the brain.

There is no credible evidence anywhere to support that attraction is hard wired into anything.

Two, it is understood that we are different from the animals because we can choose when and whom to have sex, but when we do, morality and the bible have nothing to do with our choices. It's hard wired into the brain.

We can make choices, except we can't.

:cuckoo:

Do you even understand how stupid that statement makes you look?

Three, the next time someone says being gay is a choice or you can get talked into it, ask yourself these questions. It's hardwired into the brain you are gay or you are not.

If being gay is not a choice what is it? Twin studies have conclusively proven that it is neither genetic nor environmental, and now you insist that the only possible alternative is impossible because you cannot see yourself making the choice to be gay.

Fourth, in the end the descision is always a physical one, not a spiritual one.

Yet you ignore the scientific proof that you are wrong and insist that the answer is actually metaphysical. Can you explain that?

Finally, There is a reason for everything and if you really believe that God made us in his likeness, gave us wants and desires and made us everything that we are mentally and emotionally...Then the bible wants us to act against god's initial intentions when he created us."

Huh?

So the question is which did God make stronger a persons sexual desire or their will power?

Will power. That is demonstrated by the fact that we do not have sex every time we get the urge and that you rarely see people tearing each others clothes off in public and having sex in the middle of the street.

Do you have any other questions in which the answer is so obvious that only complete idiots have to ask it at all?
