Dept of Education’s Islamic indoctrination program for public schools

So much of world history is tied to religions- if you don't learn at least the basics of what the major religions are, and where they started- how can you know the history of Europe? Or Asia? Or the conquest of the Americas?

Certainly no religion should be promoted in public schools, but refusing to teach about religions at all is like refusing to teach about the Roman empire.
I agree it leaves holes in the history. The violence and all should be a part of history in the High Schools. If it had been taught when my children were growing up it would be such a shock today when they hear about beheadings and all.

Yep- teaching world history without telling children of the violence in history would leave a huge hole in the education.

Imagine if they didn't learn about the drawing and quartering of citizens in Great Britain? The murder of Huegonauts by the French Catholics? The slaughter of cities by Genghis Kahn? The sack of Constantinople by Christian Crusaders? The enslavement of millions in the name of Christ by the Portuguese and Spanish? And yes- the Muslim conquests.

Shame your education was so short changed.
Modern history of Boko Harem, Mandella having people burned alive with tires around their necks and all the other tragedies of apartheid and all the problems around the globe should be taught too but it isn't always. Not to say that people won't eventually learn if they look into all of it and the problems people have always faced socially. One would think after thousands of years people should be able to find a way to basically live and let live but all it takes is one shit stirrer with charisma to get a fire storm started where people get hurt.

I don't want to put words in your mouth- but reading your post- you appear to blame Mandella for the 'tragedies' of apartheid- and that he was the charismatic shit stirrer with charisma.

While charismatic leaders can often lead a nation to tragedy- sometimes they also change the course of history- such as Patrick Henry and indeed Mandella himself.

Mandela in his youth was a shit-stirrer. He and his wife did in fact encourage a violence which resulted in imaginal tragedy for the victims of their vigilante justice. That is why he spent 27 years in prison. That 27 years gave him time to change. Its too bad his wife Winnie didn't get as much time to do a self examination as he did.

Patrick Henry was a part of a militia against a foreign state imperialistic enemy. It wasn't a race war and they did not intentionally torture people to make examples of them for vigilante type justice.

Nothing but diversion and deflection while ignoring the OP. Leftist trolls hard at work here!

Where the hell's the left's cries of “freedom from religion?” Something you want presented to your fifth grader?

Okay, scream and attack the source as being biased – if you don't bother to READ the article and check out all the links.

Thanks for the laughs..
Like kids pay attention to Christianity when they attend church and become devout christians....The only reason that Islam seems to work so well is the rigid enforcement of the religion by the mosque and the state apparatus.
