Dems gain control of the Wisconsin Senate

The Wisconsin Senate is in recession for the rest of the term... Nothing will be voted on nless there's an emergency...

Democrats gain control of Senate in Wisconsin recall election - latimes.com

It’s only one seat, but that’s enough for now to flip control of the state Senate from the GOP to Democrats ...

Nothing will be voted on nless there's an emergency...

that is the concession the Democrats accomplished ... not just one seat but three including last year.

the Democrats had nothing to lose going into the Recall and potentially gained a seat / control of the WI Senate.

Nothing is gained... Nothing will be voted on...

You Lose... You Get Nothing!

Good DAY, Sir...!

Nothing will be voted on...

that's the point, the Rs lost their ability prior to the next election ...

The WI GOP loses control of one branch of the government and call it a victory.

I don't remember anyone on the right calling it a Democratic victory when the Democrats lost control of the House in 2010.

I guess the threshold for what qualifies as nonsense has been raised by the Right again.

Walker wins one for the plutocrats
Wednesday, Jun 6, 2012

Outspent 7-1, Democrats couldn't beat Scott Walker with a strong ground game. What does that say about November?

..... When Walker moved against public employee unions, it was an effort to drive the final nail in labor’s coffin, while defunding a crucial resource base for the Democratic Party. Plutocrats rewarded him handsomely for his work, shoveling money into Wisconsin and burying Democrat Tom Barrett with a 7-1 cash disadvantage.

..... Polls showed that people who made up their minds in the last month overwhelmingly chose Barrett, but that most people decided on the recall before May – when Democrats were fighting with one another and Walker was blanketing the airwaves with advertising. Most important, Barrett drowned in outside money, with two-thirds of Walker’s cash coming from out of state, floods of it from the usual suspects like the Kochs, Sheldon Adelson, Foster Freiss and Bob Perry.

Given that the Republicans enjoyed a 7:1 funding advantage, they were able to control the agenda and bury Barrett with their negative media campaign.

Its no secret that money controls the airwaves and wins elections in America, just as the Romney Campaign with its funding advantage was able to "steamroller" over its opposition - Gingrich and Santorum.

That's a financial advantage, however, that the Republicans won't have during the 2012 Presidential Election, where the Obama Campaign should be able to match them dollar for dollar.

Looks like Walker got the message:

Wisconsin governor wants to mend divide with brats and beer - San Jose Mercury News

He's a much FRIENDLIER guy today, wants to thaw the ice. 53-47 in a RECALL is not a "blowout".

idiot. Nothing would be voted on if all Senate seats went to the GOP, or the Democrats. The fact that a single seat MAY go to the dems changes nothing. No voting until after the election in November.

Let me break it down for you. The legislation that is going to take down the corrupt Public Unions is going to REMAIN IN PLACE. That is what outsiders of the state want. Walker's win will set in place a wave of other state governments (from both sides of the isle) taking on the corrupt Public Unions that are bankrupting the state. If Walker lost, the wave would never have happened. This is a huge victory in which even fool like you can understand (even if you don't want to accept it).

MILWAUKEE -- There may be a glimmer of good news for Wisconsin Democrats despite last night’s convincing win by Republican Scott Walker in the recall race for governor.

After a vote tabulation glitch in Racine County, Democrat John Lehman appears to have come out on top in a state senate recall that late Tuesday night looked like it was going the way of incumbent Republican Van Wanggard. The margin is less than 1,000 votes, and Wanggard has yet to concede though Lehman, who held the seat until 2010, declared victory.

It’s only one seat, but that’s enough for now to flip control of the state senate from the GOP to Democrats, a change that could in theory make things harder for Walker to impose his conservative agenda in Madison.

Enjoy your six months. In January 2013, it's apple-cart turnover time again. But do all the damage you can. The Wisconsin people haven't had enough, and when you're done with them, they will have.

And they'll kick the likes of Chrissy to the curb.

In a very close race, some votes magically appear the next day to give the Democrat the victory. I wonder of Obama's DOJ team will look into it?

After a vote tabulation glitch in Racine County,
What they hell does that mean! Sounds very fishy to me!

The emphasis is on theoretically, because the legislature isn’t scheduled to meet between now and the November elections, when Republicans will get a chance to regain control of the Senate.
A very symbolic win. He won, but they aren't meeting until after the Nov election! Nice victory. What is funny is he will have no district, since it got redistricted!

And since they controlled the legislature during last year’s redistricting process, they remapped many districts to make them more Republican friendly —
Did you see this one Chris? You have a symbolic win, which is getting set up for a GOP landslide. Congrats with your victory in name only!

just as the Democrats who control the legislature in neighboring Illinois did to cement their power.
Don't complain about the gerry-merrying, IL did it 10 fold worse!

Democrats challenged four Senate seats in Wisconsin, including that of the majority leader Scott Fitzgerald, but only Wanggard’s changed hands after Tuesday’s voting. If the result holds, Democrats will hold a 17-16 majority, though Wanggard can request a recount under Wisconsin law.
1 out of 4, congrats numbnutz!

When the people of Wisconsin realize the level of Democrat Party betrayal of their good faith, they'll be sorrier than in 1993, when they found cryptosporidium in Milwaukee's water supply, making thousands of residents very, very ill.

Walker remains in an office he was already elected to, the state Senate has a Democratic majority, and Walker is suddenly inviting the entire legislature for "maybe some good Wisconsin beer", and food. He is really not acting like a victor! 47% of the voters wanted him tossed out MID TERM, not a good sign to the sane.

Haven't heard that story...but take your word for it...nevertheless?

Wisconsinites not only read the tealeaves...but LIVED failure which is why they voted for Walker from day one...and from what I read are equally irritated they were forced to re-live it AND pay for it again, all for a few losers that didn't like the outcome. Charming, and a colossal waste of time, energy and expense...but they're dealing with Statists.

What do you not understand about Walker won in 2010; he was not tossed out in a RECALL election? Winning what one already has is a shell game at the county fair.

Have you seen the Wisconsin Senate Calendar? NO activity or session until January 2013. Whoops.

Are you saying the dems should block any legislation Walker proposes?
And if so you claim that is a good thing?

Why not? It's a strategy that the GOP thinks is a winner.

The Union is not done with Wisconsin. If it can't have the whole ship, it's going to sink the ship, and it's going to sink the ship with its Senate position. They actually only had to win one election to get everything they ever wanted and destroy Wisconsin as they were on their way to doing when they recalled the newly-elected Governor who only did his job.

They think nobody can stop their destruction of Wisconsin, get outta their way!
