I don't believe the problem is either party intending to do damage. It's the huge bureaucracy that has built up gradually over many, many years, and the near impossibility of wading through it all and coming up clean. In order to seriously "change" anything, entire agencies would have to be literally eliminated. Lobbying would have to be outlawed in direct contravention to freedom of speech guaranteed by the Constitution. And what party (even a new one) will succeed in doing that?

Heard a story the other day about a woman who was an executive with a small company if you will.This company like many others is struggling in this Obama economy.The owner of the company hasn't taken any salary in about a year.The lady telling the story was going on about how the owner had instructed her to get creative in making payroll.The owner is doing his best not to have to fire anyone.She was making payroll barely,getting the quarterly payroll taxes to the government in time.She was using credit cards to pay vendors so they would keep delivering material so this company would be able to stay in business.

She was in the middle of making a decision about which vendor she could be late paying this time around because the credit cards were maxed out.

The reason she was telling this story was some lib before her was pissed about the evil companies who could hire people but refused to because they wanted ALL that money for themselves.

Typical Lib attitude,greedy evil rich people.....

i looked up the definition of a lobbyist.....it said someone or a group that tries to influence someone or another group.....it said NOTHING about money being paid to influence that group or individual......thats called Bribery.....that is the part that should be outlawed....

I don't think anyone is singling out the struggling middle class small business. It's the giant corporations that have been riding this wave to their advantage, period. They are the ones that are protected by the US Chamber of Commerce and they are the ones that make the headlines, so when small business owners see those headlines, they take their cues from there and just assume that all of government (and Democrats) are against them, too.

It's disgusting to me that banks are more than willing to extend credit to small businesses by way of CREDIT CARDS, and of course reap high interest rates thereon, but they are not willing to issue business loans or letters of credit to keep those businesses afloat.

It's the campaign contributions that can now be hidden in storefront PACs where their identity doesn't need to be revealed anymore, thanks to the recent USSC decision. This kind of lobbying (graft) was given a great big boost, rather than any attempt to minimize it. And yes, now the Dems can do the same. What WERE the justices THINKING?!

Lobbyist are $250,000 a year plus earners. So they will keep their tax beak, as the GOP holds unemployment extension hostage. So, the money will continue to flow to lobbyist.
