Democrats will be 100% responsible for a shutdown.

They are forcing it in the hopes that the gop gets the blame and they cake walk back into control of the house. Party over country.....

No matter how many times you tell that same lie, the public isn't buying it. Ted Cruz owned the shutdown for the GOP. He put his performance art face all over it. Only one party is willing to shut down the government over what they cannot accomplish legislatively and it's not the Democrats.

No matter how many times you lie about it, the GOP has already voted to keep government open. The only way that the GOP gets the blame is if the media drums that message over and over again, in the face of the facts to the contrary.

Democrats only care about one thing ---the next election. According to the "polls", the public will blame Republicans. This is the green light for them to go forward with a shutdown. They think they will gain politically from it.

If Republicans cave and give Dems what they want, Dems win.
If Republicans stand their ground, the gov will shut down and Dems will claim to win.

Let's see. Democrats refuse to negotiate one inch on Obuma Care except to provide exemptions for democrat voters. Democrats provided exemptions to get some people to vote for it but refuse to let everyone take an exemption. IOW democrats want to pick and choose who gets screwed by it.

In response the public says throw it out.

The House, which is the people's house, owns the power of the purse, to decide which government programs it wants to fund. The senate, which is supposed to be the state legislature's house but has become a majority tyranny house, refuses to allow the House the power of the purse. The senate, run by Reid who boldly proclaims he will not negotiate with republicans, says it is time to punch the bully (republicans evidently) in the nose.

The democrats are saying, if you don't hand over your money I'm gonna punch you in the nose.

And if the republicans refuse to hand over their money that makes the republicans the "bully." ROFL You just can't make this shit up.

Lol wut? Ted Cruz forcing the Senate to take the weekend off? Did he force the prez or reid to say they won't negotiate?

100% democrat tactic at play here.

There was an election last year. The voters did not say throw the law out.

Ahh this stupidity again.

I guess the American public(including you) also support:

Secret overseas prisons
Gitmo
NSA spying
Patriot Act
War in Arab nations
Bombing civilians

Now shut up with this stupid failed logic

Right. Except for the majority of Americans who think that because the Republicans must stop the implementation of the new health care laws before people realize the benefits at all costs, even if it means a Government shutdown and a default on our incurred debt.

Wrong. There were many issues. Obama care was not the only issue. Unfortunate for conservatives the republicans did not run a conservative candidate, he was a known liberal so what's the point of voting at all. Additionally, the guy was a hundred years old, a homophobic jerk, a guy from an odd religion, a guy with a history in corporate take overs and splitting companies up for cash, really just a bad candidate all around.

Gramps, why do you think it is that no party in the history of the USA has ever used these hostage-taking tactics before?

What happens when a nation makes it a policy to always negotiate with hostage-takers and give them most of what they want? What does that bring?

Answer: "More and more hostage-taking". That's why we can't appease them. And disappointing that you support the Republican party-over-country tactics now. The Democrats, being loyal to country over party, never used such hostage-taking tactics when the situation was reversed.

Wrong. There were many issues.

Stop whining and making excuses. You _lost_, for whatever the reason, and elections have consequences. If you want to change the law, win some elections. You know, follow The Constitution. Remember that?

By the way, a solid plurality supports the ACA, and that changes to a solid majority when you simply describe what it does instead of calling it ObamaCare. So lose the BS about how people want it gone. You are part of a minority in every way, trying to use hostage-taking to get your way because you couldn't do it through democracy.

the Republicans have voted 40 times already to stop ACA with no results and are now leveraging their legislation with the threat of shutting down the gov't.

they are just grandstanding with no proposal of their own.

except the Exchanges will open as planed tomorrow and the longer the Republicans keep up their tactic the more their position will weaken and the likelihood of their losing the House will increase daily.

Hostage takers?

Turn your TV off, seriously

GOP: "DEFUND/DELAY ACA OR WE WON'T FUND THE GOVERNMENT!!!"

That is hostage taking by any approach at all. All that's missing is a cartoon of an elephant holding a gun to uncle sam's head.
