Well the below video cuts it--and that is why I believe both parties in all states should close their primaries to just party voters. Iowa is the most ridiculous of all of them and they are 1st in every primary. You can be a democrat walk into a caucas--sign a form that you're now republican and vote. Michigan along with several other states actually lets democrats vote in Republican primaries. And of course, who are all these democrats voting for? Rick Santorum.
And the answer to why they are voting for Rick Santorum is explained by a democrat who just did it in the below video.

But wait - if the Democrats are voting for Santorum, and the 'conservatives' are voting for Santorum, and this is supposedly a conservative country, why did Reversible Mittens win?

It's called freedom, sucks doesn't it.

Well I don't think republicans should be able to vote in your primary--nor do I believe that democrats should be able to vote in republican primaries.

It simply does not make any sense. I think for Presidential candidates there should be one voting regulation that applies to all states for ballot access and they should be closed ballot primaries.

As long as it is one vote for one party or the other I do not see a problem, people should be able to switch parties at any point for any reason, even disingenuous reasons. It's their vote, the government putting restrictions on voting to protect a party is a dangerous precedent to set.

Santorum could beat Obama...

The only fucks who would vote Obama at this point are the extremists (racists, socialists, environmentalists unions etc).

There is no way Obama is getting his "hope and change" turnout like he did back in the 08 presidential election.

By voting for Santorum, those Democrats are missing out by not voting for other candidates that may be on the Dem ballot- Congressional races for example. Kind of stupid really.
Didn't the Democrats also vote that day? I know that Obama doesn't have a Democratic opponent, but the Democrats still have a primary, don't they?

I admit I did this in Michigan. Santorum would have won too if he didn't say a bunch of stupid things the day before. They even showed that he lost the heavily Catholic Hamtramik to Mitt the Mormon. That should not have happened. And I almost don't believe that Santorum didn't win Michigan because us liberals hate Romney here. I understand 14,000 Democratic Union members said they would show up and vote for Santorum. I don't know how many actually showed, but I almost think Rick Snyder and the GOP cheated and gave Romney Michigan because it would have been too embarrassing for Romney to lose his home state and he is going to be the nominee. Then how could they steal Michigan in November if Romney didn't even win it in February?

In Michigan there was nothing for us to vote for on the Democratic ticket so we had nothing better to do than to mess with the GOP nomination process. If Santorum would have won Michigan, who knows what that could have turned into. It would have been a huge blow to the Romney campaign.

And mission accomplished anyways for us liberals because with our votes, as I understand it, Romney got 51 delegates and Santorum got 49. So we probably did help drag on the GOP's primaries.

California just voted to have open primaries. It's obviously something "the people" want, right?

Well, I have a feeling it will be something the people thought they wanted...until they see that there will be 25 candidates for one Senate seat on the June ballot. I can't wait for the first General Election that has two Democrats at the top of the the ticket going into November...that should set some heads to exploding.

Oh, and California's Open Primary does not apply to President or Central Committee members. Those are still "party nominated" offices.

Doesn't it depend upon where you live in Michigan? It's hard to imagine a Democrat Primary ballot devoid of all but Obama's name. No judge appointments, referendums, City or municipal positions, etc...?

You make a good point and also to counter the usuall idiots from the left.

The way the democrats conducted their primary last time around allow two votes and banning states with the use of super delegates.

They could not get closer to corruption if they tried.

Of course they are - they are pathological in projection.

And, they are pathological in dishonesty - manufacture something then point the finger at others.

So you don't like when the Democrats use Rush Limbaugh's tactics either?
I don't really care all that much about Limbaugh.

I do care about Democrats using projection and dishonesty in primaries...like the 2000 primaries. Michigan, for example. Limbaugh copied Democrats, being the ass that he is.

Do you have a link for the very bad horrible thing that Democrats did in MI in 2000?
