Democrats are to blame for the last 30-40 years of social ills in this country on all fronts from race to abortion to gay rights etc.
They have created an atmosphere of dependence among minorities in exchange for votes, they have continually supported things that are the antithesis to common sense in regards to abortion and gay rights.

Republicans are trying take us back to 1890. Democrats are responsible civil rights legislation, protecting the environment, fighting for individual liberties and religious freedom, and continuing to help move our country forward, and all this while Republicans fought tooth and nail to move America backwards. Republicans want a segregated, Christian-only, wealthy dominated America. They opposed civil rights, they support allowing religious groups to dictate personal moral decisions for people, and they continuously allow businesses to trash our environment. Thank the Democrats for moving us forward, tell the Republicans to stop living in 1890.

Democrats have addicted generations of Americans to useless and wasteful government programs thereby assuring themselves votes by continuing these programs. They have presided over the country being sharply divided(Vietnam and Monica), Carters huge energy crisis, they have taxed us into oblivion and are responsible if not for both at least the very first huge deficit that a heavily Democratic congress presided over. They have overstepped their bounds on the environment to where salamanders and owls matter more than individual rights, all this environmental hoopla just to cover what their real purpose is: SOCIALISM.

Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Dan Rostenkowski, Robert Byrd, Tom Daschle, Barney Frank, James Traficant and Hillary Clinton. Folks an all star list of Democratic luminaries.

Oh what BS. Civil rights would never have passed without Republicans because Al Gore Sr and his friends were voting agianst it. Heck if it werent for Republicans we would still have slavery.

Protecting the environment isnt that big an issue. Any company knows if they want to continue making money in the future they cant destroy the environment. Logging companies for instance make their money selling lumber. Do you think they are going to stupidly destroy all the trees without planting them? Or oil, you think Oil companies want to spill oil all over the place? it loses them money on clean up and the fact that they dont have gallons of oil to sell anymore. You think they want that? And how do you think Democrats are protecting the environment? With laws? We have all seen how liberals view law in California for the past month. Laws to liberals are ways to say they did something and feel good about themselves and do nothing to really fix the problem. The Environment isnt going to be saved by liberals making laws. Its going to be saved by big businesses developing technology to use the resources more efficiently.

And then you have the audacity to say that Democrats have been fighting for civil rights and religious freedom. What are you smoking? Democrats have been the one pushing the agenda to destroy religious freedom in public. They are the first ones to suggest that if you actually practice a religion faithfullly you are a nutcase. And if you have the audacity to actually share what you believe with other people your a hatemonger. Its also the Democrats who have been pushing political correctness. Another way to demonize anyone who says something they dont like.

I think what makes me so sad is you actually believe this crap. We think everyone should be judged by their character instead of skin color and somehow we want a segregated society while the Democrats fight for their Racial programs giving special privelage to groups. Which group is segregating society? The one who wants the colorblind society or the one who wants special rights for racial groups?

Wealthy dominated? What is wrong with people being wealthy and creating wealth? Of course the wealthy are probably going to have influence. They have money. How do you propose we fix this? take their money and give it to everyone who doesnt? Does that fix the problem? What really gets me is you dont realize that taxing people who make more money stregthens the power of those who already have money because those who have wealth to begin with dont get taxed. Its only those who earn money who are taxed so you prevent more people from becoming wealthy and having the power to influence politics in favor of those who didnt earn their money. You are protecting the elite. Do you guys think of what you really believe?

Its the Democrats trying to take us to the 1890s. Who is fighting against big business who develop technology? Who is fighting to limit the amount of energy we are able to produce? Who is fighting to take religion out of public life? Who is fighting to restrict people from speaking their mind? It sure as hell aint the Republicans (with the exception of McCain which is why Democrats love him so much)

Wake up.

Welfare can spin out of control, but let's not forget the example of some of the most productive (economically) countries in the world --- the Nordic nations of Europe. They have incredibly high rates of taxation and amazingly comprehensive welfare programs. But they are still economic powerhouses.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..................

gee, and I thought all this time that no one person/party could be to blame for anything? Seems to me that balance of blame is equitable to the balance of power. Meaning, its ALL F*cked up.

I guess that my above statement isnt conducive to the flaming that so many seem to love getting involved in here though - its curious and interesting to me how so many well informed people can choose being a REactive member of society rather than a PROactive member of society.....so, I will do what I generally do....I read the posts, laugh at what is humorous, shake my head at what is not, and keep my opinions to myself. (And DK breathes a HUGE sigh of relief-LOL! love ya hon)

No. The balance of blame lies more with dems, regardless of what seems likely to you. It's easy to throw up our hands and holler uncle, equally redistributing the blame in a bipartisan fashion, mindless of the actual culprit party.

Lanyce, I think your categorization of all of us into either proactive or reactive categories, seems artificial. It's primarily an unnecessary device used by yourself to make you feel more analytical than you actually are. Cheers.

To RT Wing:

Im new here, yknow. Please clarify for me.....is this the part where I get all angry and upset and either:

a. whimper to my husband?
b. spend half the morning looking up links on the web to shoot back at you? (THATS not going to happen - I have a life)
c. or just tell you to go to hell, and go on with my morning?
personally, I like c.

Im sure you are wanting way more of a response than what youve received; oh well....its good to want.

Be gone little man. you obviously didnt read what I wrote. Or maybe you did but you dont have the ability to comprehend it?

Either way, I dont care.

Have a great morning - I know I am! :)

the cry of a child saying 'he did most of it, not me'.

I think your categorization of all of us into either proactive or reactive categories, seems artificial.

Of course it would to you, since accepting the truth is something you've never found easy to do in the face of being shown that you're wrong.

It's primarily an unnecessary device used by yourself to make you feel more analytical than you actually are.

Omnipotence must be such a bitch to live with.

Hey everybody, look, it's mr. and mrs. "calculated nonchalance"! They're so cool. And they say they're having a good morning, cause they've heard living well is the best revenge. But we all can see the hell it is being them.

The balance of blame does remain with the Democrats though..

Take the Education system for example. Democrats have been in control of the government on federal and local levels for decades and the school systems have been getting worse. Yet if any Republican dare suggest we reform education, try a new idea. offer vouchers etc. we are told we are anti education for some reason. Why dont Dems start taking responsibility for their actions in keeping millions of minorities uneducated and failing our children?

oh mr right wing man.....

damn, you figured me out.

Now what do I do?

TO be honest, I wasnt having a great morning because its the best revenge....I dont seek revenge....its just not my style. I was having a great morning because the coffee didnt suck. I was having a great morning because my kids are on spring break and we had big plans for the day. However, if you need to believe that you are THAT important in my life that I would arrange alllll of my moods and words around you, then so be it.

As far as being Mrs. nonchalance....umm no. Not me. Now, had you said calculated bitch, I really couldnt argue, for Im quite capable of that.

Again, on your way little man....shoo.

SMOOOOOCH!

:D

well, from what I understand, people either reallllly like me or reallllly hate me. LOL (DK can vouch for this- ha ha)

I just speak my truth :) I figure that life is too short to do otherwise.

The Demos are in the pocket of the teachers unions who oppose any means of competency testing or any serious look at their tenure laws. Sad.
