Democrats still ignoring people who could have helped them defeat Trump, Ohio party leaders say

We were under threat of Soviet nukes for many years. And yes, Reagan (and others) found it best to arm our enemies enemy instead of US involvement.

The thing was, the Russians didn't kill any Americans... Bin Laden killed thousands of us. Good going, Ronnie Ray-gun.

If the Saudi's or anybody else wants to compete with fracking, the price of fuel goes even lower making your alternative energy even less attractive. Hydro, wind, solar are all more expensive fuels to use otherwise we would be using them.

No, they are undeveloped technologies. Guy, the wind and sun are FREE!!! Once you build a solar panel, it keeps collecting and converting energy forever. Same with a windmill. So of course, big oil makes damned sure those technologies are never developed.

You don't have electricity in your home? How do you get on the internet? Even if there were recharging stations, are you willing to sit at one for two or more hours while your car recharges? Hell, it takes an hour for me to recharge the battery for my cordless drill.

If you can't afford an electric car now, what would you do if liberals took over the government and gave you your dream which is force you to buy an electric car?

If we took the 900 billion we spend every year policing the middle east and spent it on infrastructure to produce and support electric cars, we'd all have electric cars. Of course, we don't do that. Too many people making money on the status quo while dumb people like you wonder why your boss cuts your health insurance.

Must have been the black guy!

Like it or not, the USA is a two-party country and whatever the faults of the Democratic Party, progressives have no chance with the Republicans. There is no choice but to stick with a compromised Democratic Party.

Enough with your baseless urban legends already. If big oil thought that any alternative energy could replace oil, they would have jumped on it before you knew anything about them.

Solar panels don't last forever, they need to be replaced. Windmills break. They don't turn forever. Batteries have a five year life span. It could take you half of your life to break even on solar panels for your home instead of just buying the electricity.

Always run to that when losing a debate. It's becoming a real pattern for you.

No, they wouldn't have. If obsolete technologies died peacefully, we still wouldn't have coal industry flexing it's political muscle to keep a few thousand coal miners in business.

Always run to that when losing a debate. It's becoming a real pattern for you.

Yes, I always return to that because it's always important to remember what a complete fucking loser you are. You let the one percenters fuck you in the ass like Ned Beatty in Deliverance and you squeal like a pig, boy.

Bullshit. They are constantly improving alternative energy. They invested millions into batteries that hold more energy and appliances that use less of it. Technology advances all the time, but you can't force it to advance beyond it's capability. What you want is the Wright brothers to invent a rocket ship to go to the moon after their first flight with their airplane.

Yeah, you're doing so well you can't (by your own admission) afford an electric car you're such a winner. But I think you are FOS as usual, ;you won't buy an electric car for the same reasons most Americans don't. It's also the reason you don't have a windmill in your backyard living in one of the windiest places in the country. If government doesn't do something for you, you won't do it for yourself. That's the typical liberal way.

NO, what I want is for the Wright Brothers to not suppress research into rockets because they might replace planes. But that describes what oil companies have done to the electric car.

Besides the fact that you are a retard and don't understand why Chicago is called "The Windy City", (It has nothing to do with wind) the fact is, I live in a Condo, I don't have a back yard, and I don't have a place I can plug in an electric car.

In short, the infrastructure isn't there to support these things. they should be, but your beloved one percenters wouldn't like that.

All propaganda and no proof. Oil companies could care less about electric cars because they make the electricity those cars run on.

How would infrastructure help you if you don't have a backyard or an electrical outlet? Oh, that's right, let everybody else buy an electric car and you have a good excuse not to.

Well then, I'm sure you are doing other things to reduce your carbon foot print. I'm sure you ride your bike to work on nice days, or at the very least, take public transportation. Or maybe you are in a car pool with coworkers or employees from nearby companies. That must be it, I know it is.

So concerned about the environment, yet you moved to a place where you can't do any of the things you want everybody else to do.

Liberals want everyone to do what they want, except liberals shouldn't have to because they are "concerned and aware", therefore exempt from what they require of others.

Who Killed the Electric Car?

Try to educate yourself, stupid.

we could have charging stations. We could have wind farms. (In fact, we have quite nice one a little west of Chicago). We could have the infrastructure needed to support EV technology, and most people would probably prefer it to gas powered cars and the occassional $4.00 a tank gasoline when the Oil Company execs decide to fuck us over.

I drive a practical car, not a gas guzzling hog. I have cost effective heating in my home. I buy environmentally safe products...

And at the end of the day, dumb inbreds like you keep paying the Arabs to attack us, because, um, Freedom or something.

WOW! You mean somebody who was trying to sell a book (or movie) wrote about it? Well that does it. If somebody made a book or movie out of it, it has to be true.

Dummy. Oil prices are not controlled by execs, oil prices are controlled by the commodities market which has heavy government oversight. Trust me, I traded commodities for several years.

Summary:
Time to charge an electric car can take as little as 30 minutes or up to 12 hours. The time it takes to charge depends on the size of the battery and the speed of the charging point.

No, um, because they have a large supply of the only fuel that is economical and plentiful to use.

Well, good point. THey need to make things like this into movies because you are too dumb to read a book.

Sure you did. And now you are a loser who works on a loading dock and can't get health insurance.

Yeah, because all the smart people believe everything they read.

Sure you did. And now you are a loser who works on a loading dock and can't get health insurance.

You have the attention span (and the intelligence) of a five year old. If you weren't daydreaming while reading this blog you would have known I'm a tractor-trailer operator, not a dock worker. In commodities, most people lose and some win. That's the odds you have with high-risk investments. You see, some of us take risks in life in an attempt to get ahead instead of crying on the internet that the rich people are taking advantage of them.

Guy, you're a loser who can't even rate health insurance.

And frankly, that you got suckered in the Wall Street Casino doesn't impress me.

Well that's the risk you take. Many people have become multi-multi millionaires in the market. Your very own Hillary Clinton turned $1,000 into $100,000 trading cattle. I lost a couple thousand in the end, but it was the most enjoyable five years I ever spent so it was worth the money. In fact, I may do it again someday in the future.

SO, other than repeating the dubunked story about cattle futures, you gambled, you lost, and you think you had fun.

The Casinos work on the same sucker mentality.

Not really because the odds are way against you with casinos. In commodities, you have a 50/50 chance of making money even if you don't know anything about it. You make the same money when a commodity loses money as you do when it makes money. You just have to decide which direction it will go.

And no, Hillary's story was true to the tee. I checked it out already. But there are a lot of Hillary's out there. Her success is common in commodities. Here's why:

If you buy a cattle contract for $500.00, and you profit $500.00, you can buy another contract because even though you didn't cash it in, it's still considered your money. So now you have two contracts and it moves up the same distance. Now you can by two more. So now you have four contracts.......

This is known as pyramiding. Unlike stocks where you have to sell them first to get your money, you don't need to do that with commodities. I don't know how Hillary made that kind of money, but from what I read, she only traded cattle, and the only way to make that kind of money in that short of time is by pyramiding.

Yes, I had a blast. It was so invigorating. I remember calling in a trade at 9:00 am, and my broker would call me back at 10:30 saying I just made $600.00, and what I wanted to do next? That's a thrill no other market offers. Plus instead of complaining about those evil rich millionaires, I made an attempt to become one myself.

Why doesn’t anyone know we’re incredibly close to replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote?

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact has passed a total of 35 state legislative chambers in 23 states

MAEGAN CARBERRY

It’s been six months since the divisive 2016 election, and America’s ritualistic, obligatory bitching about the Electoral College is already fading in the face of nascent policy battles.

That’s the cycle: Every four years we rend our garments only to have off-season outcries over new executive orders or legislation distract us before we can achieve any kind of major structural changes. By the time another general election rolls around, we’re back where we were — watching John King baffle CNN viewers with his fancy maps. And, yet, a way out of the electoral chaos is not that far off, thanks to the quiet, wonky National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Though the initiative gets sporadic media coverage, it is hardly general public knowledge. It should be.

The simple compact proposes that states pledge their electoral votes “to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.” This rather brilliantly obviates the need for an amendment dumping the Electoral College from the Constitution.

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact would only take effect when a sufficient number of states sign on such that their combined electoral votes constitute the magic 270 we’ve always needed to elect a president.

So far 165 electoral votes from 11 states have been secured. Of the remaining 105 required, 82 are seriously in play, having passed at least one legislative chamber in 10 states. Optimistically, we’re 23 new electoral votes away from ridding ourselves of the Electoral College. It’s something that could be managed through strategically pressuring a handful of state representatives.

We are not close but it's your dream.
