I'm completely speechless. My jaw is on the floor. For once, the Democrats are doing the right thing to help the economy. This bill is PROOF that even the Democrats understand that their typical policies hurt the economy.

In this bill, they are proposing giving a tax cut of 100% on significant investments (equipment, etc.) and a 10% tax cut for hiring new employees.

After having to endure the radical Communism/Marxism/Socialism of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, it is so refreshing to see the party hijacked by Communists actually respond like responsible, adult Democrats again. This is an example of a Democrat Party I could absolutely work and compromise with.

To the Democrats who worked on this bill - I salute you.

Form over substance....Don't fall for it.

Who hires new employees just because they're going to get a little sop of a tax break?

I agree with Ernie, but if this is straight up true, I'd applaud them for doing the CORRECT thing.

Yeah that part is kinda Weak, but the 100% right off on significant investments (equipment, etc.) is huge, Huge for The Company I work for for sure.

Nobody, of course. However, if they've been needing additional employees due to growth but have been holding off because of the anti-business rhetoric and policies of the Obama regime, a bill like this along with the defeat of Obama will probably get those organizations to proceed with the hires.

If they're holding off hiring because of the anti-business attitudes of the punk-in-chief, I hardly think that a paltry 10% enticement is going to get them up off the dime.

There must be a catch. Sorry, but I'm way beyond trusting this bunch.

I am sure they will attach it to something far less attractive. lol
It was the GOP who filibustered the bill because they could not bog it down with amendments!!!

See the first quote in my sig.

It was Edthecycnic who couldn't be bothered to read the Bill.

Scroll down some, and click on an amendment number and click 'Go'.

All the amendments were proposed by Reid.

Republicans block small-business tax break on procedural vote - BostonHerald.com

Friday, July 13, 2012

WASHINGTON - One of the top items on President Barack Obama’s to do list - a 10 percent tax break for small businesses that make new hires - got tangled in an election-year tax debate as Republicans lead a filibuster to block the measure.
The legislation would have provided the tax credit to companies that hire new employees or otherwise expand their payrolls this year, a typically popular approach among the GOP. Republicans in the Senate did not necessarily object to the measure, but they protested Thursday after Democrats refused to allow votes on other amendments.

Those were very minor things like changing the enactment date. The GOP terrorists are holding the bill hostage to extend the Bush tax cuts.

The problem with a 100% write off first year is that if you later sell that machine, it is taxed as capitol gains.

I'll check Congress.org on Monday, after they've updated the bill's progress.

If true, I agree that it's partisan bullshit that keeps clogging things up.

What's the point in that?

I thought Obama said that's what he plans on doing....

Like I said...A total form-over-substance Kabuki dance.
