Top Democrats are growing markedly more pessimistic about holding the House, privately conceding that the summertime economic and political recovery they were banking on will not likely materialize by Election Day.

In conversations with more than two dozen party insiders, most of whom requested anonymity to speak candidly about the state of play, Democrats in and out of Washington say they are increasingly alarmed about the economic and polling data they have seen in recent weeks.

They no longer believe the jobs and housing markets will recover — or that anything resembling the White House’s promise of a “recovery summer” is under way. They are even more concerned by indications that House Democrats once considered safe — such as Rep. Betty Sutton, who occupies an Ohio seat that President Barack Obama won with 57 percent of the vote in 2008 — are in real trouble.

In two close races, endangered Democrats are even running ads touting how they oppose their leadership.

A Democratic pollster working on several key races said, “The reality is that [the House majority] is probably gone.” His data show the Democrats’ problems are only getting worse. “It’s spreading,” the pollster said.

How's that hope and change thang working for ya liberals?????

I knew this was coming two years ago, I knew this was coming. I knew Democrats would over play their hands, because liberals can't help being liberals.

Liberals are, arrogant, elitist, socialist/fascists. They would just LOVE to turn this country into some "utopian" model they think exists in Europe.

They don't get that the country does NOT want to be Europe.

I told liberals two years ago that November 2010 was coming. Liberals laughed.

Are liberals laughing now?

Lord willing, it's going to be worse than even this article portends. ;)

Liberal anguish sustains me.

Anguish? I've been getting absolute hysteria from them.

They know their guys are going to get slaughtered and there is nothing they can do about it.

All they can do is vent their rage.

It's fun to watch.

If they lose the House and the Senate or even just one, I will be reminding the liberals on this board of what they kept saying all through 2009 and early 2010.

" get over it, we won the election, you just have to accept it."

Oh, things are getting very very testy within the party ranks indeed!

The Pelosi backlash is growing exponentially.

Reid still enjoys reasonable support within the Democrat Senate ranks - guess he's just a likeable old guy or something? But what was once fear of Pelosi has now turned to loathing for Pelosi among a growing number of Dems.

To say nothing of the quiet but palpable disdain these same Dems are feeling for the Obama White House, which whispers are now indicating is going to "clean house" soon after the midterms.

It is going to be brutal for a while to be sure.

And watch Hillary - there are wheels within wheels beginning to spin by Clinton Inc...

LOL. At first I thought it said "house projects." I was about to be like oh wow up in this bitch.

But in all seriousness, the U.S. has a population of 300 million. That being said, way too many houses were made before the bubble burst. How long did the bubble last? From like 2000 to 2008 or something? Anyway, house surplus of 8 years. Bubble burst about 2 years ago. America has become a nation of instant gratification, no doubt because of TV and internet. Welcome to the real world where things don't just suddenly improve because we shout out now! now! now!

If the Republicans were in power, they would be in a bind right now. It just so happens to be the Democrats in power right now. This is the truth of the matter.:eusa_whistle:
