Democrats Double National Debt?

Naaaah NAcny and the bunch were awesome.....I mean they just passed bills by playing pin the tail on the donkey and then after passed they read them......San Francisco should be kicked out of the republic if they continue to elect morons like that.

You can't blame them for who they are.
They will say they did no such thing.
They will blame it all on the Bush tax cuts and the wars.
And the media will back them all the way.

It's our fault if we let them get away with it.
We need to win elections...

I often wonder why Democrats forget that their party controlled the House and Senate the last 2 years of the Bush Presidency.

..... and lately the first 2 years of the Obama Presidency.

Well, not really....

The republicans, it's all their fault, especially those blockheads in the House.

[sarcasm, in case you didn't realize it]

Since Democrats took over the Congress in 2007, the national debt has gone from approx. 8.7 trillion to 15.9 trillion in less than 6 years...

Not quite doubled by election day but damned impressive...:(

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

National Debt by Presidential Term - per Capita and as Percentage of GDP

How is this screwed up? Let me count the ways. First the democratic congress could pass nothing that would add to the debt that the republicans did not approve.

The Senate republicans filibustered everything that the congress was opting to pass. Even should they have been able to pass anything Bush would have vetoed it. Healthcare got passed by reconciliation which requires only a majority vote

The congress became republican in 2010. Therefore they initiated no bills that they did not approve and they shot down those initiated by the democrats.

Democrats had no real opportunity to pass things Republicans did not want. Simple as that.

Second Obama took office Jan 20 2009. The debt, as he entered office was almost 12 and a half trillion.

Bush carried a whole helluva lot of funding off books. This included funding the wars. Obama promised to put this back on the books and he did, thereby inheriting well over a trillion of the Bush debt.

Other than that you are spot on!!!!!

"No compromise, un-American GOP" (TIME)...

Averting a Second Pub Great Depression, and saving millions from homelessness is expensive....great job, Pubs!!

Dems have had real control of congress for 24 working days, not since 2/2010, and lockstep, country be damned Pubs allow NOTHING, even Pub style jobs bills...a disgrace- and fear monger nonstop with a giant BS propaganda machine...

I'm more interested in your opinion of how successful President Romney will be in cutting down the daunting debt....

Speaking of Great Depressions, what made the Great Depression "great" was not it's severity, but its long duration. You Dems thought the way to solve it was to keep spending money that the country didn't have. It took a world war to get us out of it.

Great job, Dems!

I'm more interested in your opinion to be honest...(it's probably right) but this link...

Policy | Mitt Romney for President

...gives a starting perspective of his views.

How successful, now that's a tough one, so many variables to consider.

Can he get the majority of the American people to back his policies, can he get the liberals to accept that their great liberal utopian dreams are a failure, will he have a conservative House and Senate to assist him, will Obamacare be overturned etc etc.

When you consider the average added debt has been 1.2 trillion per year over the past almost 6yrs and the track for the future with Democrat leadership can only be considered dismal at best, a new direction of adult supervision and a record of success seems like the only logical alternative.

I certainly wish he would have been far more conservative with the taxpayers money, used the veto and been (far) more vocal about the pending housing bubble, just to name a few disappointments.

Can you name any of the multitude with the Obama/Democrat leadership?

Romney's "Policy" is total BS.

Romney's ACTUAL plan- Cut taxes on rich, destroy Medicare/aid, Health Reform, raise pentagon spending, cut regs on Wall St, worry about debt in 2035...BRILLIANT
