Democrats attack Lieberman, saying he lied to delegates

Of course they say he lied. They said it two years ago as well when they vilified him during a Democratic primary. Why would they do that? Because he stood up for what he believed in. A position apparently popular with the majority of hir constitutients, because they re elected him as an independent. What motivation would Lieberman have to lie? Sour grapes? Maybe, but the Democrats brought it on themselves. This is why you don't piss on your own.

CNN) -- Democrats accused fellow lawmaker Sen. Joe Lieberman of misleading the Republican National Convention when he addressed them in a speech Tuesday night.

A senior Barack Obama campaign adviser said Lieberman flat-out lied when he told delegates that Obama never successfully reached across party lines.

"Joe Lieberman ought to be ashamed of himself for some of the things he said tonight, not as a Democrat but as an American," adviser Robert Gibbs said on "Larry King Live."

Lieberman, an independent senator from Connecticut who was the Democratic vice presidential candidate alongside Al Gore in 2000, has thrown his support behind John McCain, a longtime friend.

Lieberman urged Democratic and independent voters to make a change and vote for a McCain because, he said, he would do whatever it took to help the American public. iReport.com: Do you agree with Lieberman?

The only people who "pissed" on Joe Lieberman were the Democratic voters of CT. They didn't want him to represent them anymore and he holds a grudge.

Joe Lieberman was once a Democrat perhaps but now he is an Independent/Republican senator. It was even rumored he was on John McCain's short list for VP.

Joe Lieberman lied to the American Public by repeating the phrase that he is a democrat now. He isn't, and that is fact.

Do you want to know? Lieberman is all about the Iraq war, because Israel and the Jewish American Lobbyists are in favor of the USA fighting a war with Iraq and Iran.

And, Lieberman won re election because the Republicans voted for him. He won the Jewish vote, some democrats and almost all of the Republican vote.

The Republican who ran didn't stand a chance. Had Lieberman stayed out of the race, which he should have because he lost the primary, the democrat would have won.

A forthcoming edition of Fortune magazine ranks the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as the second most powerful interest group in Washington.

The magazine, which based its findings on a survey of Washington political players, said AIPAC - along with the Association of Trial Lawyers and the American Medical Association -owes its high ranking in part to its "substantial campaign contributions." But, it said, interest groups are valued more for "the votes they can deliver."

The pro-Israel lobby, which the magazine called "calculatedly quiet," has for years been successful in encouraging members of Congress and the administration to support U.S. foreign aid to Israel and other issues related to the U.S.-Israel relationship. Contrary to the article in Fortune's Dec. 8 issue, AIPAC does not contribute money to political candidates.

However, in response to a lawsuit, the Federal Election Commission found in 1992 that AIPAC spent money in an effort to influence congressional elections. AIPAC maintains that the specific expenditures were permissible under campaign finance laws.
