The Dems have blue dogs who often vote with Pubs, but Pubs are ALL lockstep, since THEIR leaders control the BIG MONEY fat cats where Pubs get their money. Apparently you slept through civics so here's a crash course... Congress (our legislature) is bicameral, that is, it has two chambers... the Senate and the House of Representatives. Prior to 2011, the Democrats held majorities in both chambers... after the 2010 election, and the 2011 swearing in, Republicans have a majority in the House while Democrats hold a majority in the Senate. Therefore, this is not a Republican Congress as you claimed.
