This practice of attaching completely unrelated amendments to bills needs to stop. They do this all the time in the Senate. They'll attach some provision they have been wrangling over to some really important bill that they know the other side will be hesitant to vote against in order to force their hand. Both parties do this and it needs to be against the Senate rules.

Exactly... this is absolute horseshit politics... both sides have done it wayyyyyy too long and we have to get this practice out of our governmental system

Yeah that sucks. Putting war funding money approval into a teachers bill.
War funding should have to stand on it's own and not get a ride on something so noble as an education bill.

yeah it is the same money they Republicans filibustered in the unemployment Bill. You know the one they were supposedly able to "Kill" even though they are no powerless to stop anything else
This is a common tactic by both parties but it does not make it any more attractive to see. They attach something they know the opposition would never support, to something they have to support to force their hand. Exactly what was done with Unemployment, and exactly why no matter how many times you say the Republicans killed it, you are not being truly honest.

The difficulty in passing the bill in the House is magnified by disagreement between Republicans supportive of the war — who insist the measure be "clean" of unrelated spending — and Democrats who want funding for the unpopular war to carry unrelated party priorities. Republicans are threatening to withhold support for the overall package if Democratic add-ons are included.

The Democrats sure have set the bar to all-new lows as far as dirty tricks & corruption goes. They'll regret that someday. What goes around comes around. It's gonna get very interesting. Stay tuned.
