Democratic-Republican Party and a Man Named Beckely

While there appears to be little evidence Jefferson engaged in sophistry much, he most definitely was more of an ideologue lost in a world of abstractions...

OMG!!! total idiot!!!! Jefferson's abstractions were the ideas that created American and made it the greatest country in human history by far!!

Jefferson was in France when the battles over the US Constitution were fought. He was mostly out of the loop with little influence.

out of the loop, OMG stupid!!! Jefferson wrote Declaration and was mentor to Madison who wrote the Constitution!! Madison then helped Jefferson form Republican Party and then served under Jefferson in the Jefferson administrations.

The man whose ideas created America was out of the loop????

Jefferson's ideas created America?

Okay. Special Class is over. The bus is here to pick you up

Jefferson changed his tune as he aged and yes, he was influenced by Viscount Bolingbroke and others in The Craftsman, but not at the expense of the influence of still others. The Craftsman was no bible for Jefferson

Bolingbrooke said Locke was his master. Jefferson was a a genius who was influenced by Locke and a million others

Jefferson was a great admirer of Locke’s writings, and once wrote that Locke was “one of the three greatest men that ever lived”. Historians have wondered how much Locke’s writings influenced Jefferson’s writing of the Declaration of Independence. Referring to the origin of the Declaration, Jefferson wrote: “Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind…”

Declaration of Independence? When Jeffy was a clerk?

Jeffy the failed nail maker was absent when the document that founded our nation was written -- our nation being the United States of America

100% stupid of course since Jefferson was always mentor to Madison who wrote Constitution, and then, more importantly , Jefferson interpreted it with the Second American Revolution of 1800 to establish that the Revolution had been against all govt , not just the govt of England!!

Do you understand now??

Why did historians for so long credit Jefferson for the works and deeds of Beckely? What is sadder is that if people only know how to do 'research' on the web they may never run across history's corrections.

So...

ask away
I remember this one so well

was it really around 7 years ago?

If you want to research every president of the United States for ideas and speeches he claimed were his own you will have your hands full of propaganda. Jefferson was elected so he gets the credit. Beckely was hired.
