Republicans just never seem to get it. When I look at the title of thread after thread on this forum and others the main theme seems to be "what is the latest scandal we can stir up to assasinate Obama's character."

They beat the "birther" issue to death for the first couple years and where did it go?

Nowhere!

In with a ROAR and out with a whimper! Nobody is paying attention to their so called "messages" anymore.

It's all because the GOP never has any real substance to their platform other than resisting change and reform and offering America more of the same in the hopes that voters won't notice that the status quo Republicans defend is broken.

Take the ACA for instance. Don't Republicans realize how transparent it is for them to draw a line in the sand (strictly along party lines) in opposition to Obama's initiative? Don't they think Americans KNOW that something is desperately WRONG with our health care system in the U.S. and something has to be done about it? Being the party of "NO" is what is going to sink the GOP in this election. Democrat strategy is already evolving to reflect this.

Realizing this Republicans are already beginning the great flip-flop on repealing "Obamacare." That's what happens when you don't really STAND for anything.....when your entire platform consists of just saying what you think will get you elected. You have to keep changing your "message" as circumstances evolve.

Tea Party Republicans had the reconciliation 2003 tax legislation extended in 2010 for two additional years - the economy continues to falter and with little change in employment as proof their status quo is not a solution but contributes to the economic constraints caused by deficits they are unwilling to take responsibility for.

stimulus gov't spending curtailed the Great Recession in June 0f 09 with positive GDP (Growth) that has remained positive to the preset Quarter - the new status quo is what Republicans are trying to prevent that reshapes the country for more than just the Republican 50% + 1 mentality.
