It's well noted that Russia used FACEBOOK and TWITTER adds to influence the election. They didn't need to mention Russia to do it--- One site called Secure borders--was a Russian add--another Muslim site was designed to promote banning Muslims, and another Texas site was also a Russian made add.

They looked real--but were stuffed full of FAKE news in order to sway public opinion--toward TRUMP. Specific areas of the country were targeted. If a state leaned toward Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein they would get a ton of FAKE news about Hillary Clinton. The South was bombarded with Illegal immigrant FAKE news about crimes committed by illegals, etc. etc. etc. It wasn't obvious but they have traced the money back to Russian funded adds--coming out of St. Petersburg & even Siberia.
