Egypt says Syria's "oppressive regime" must go - Yahoo! News

DUBAI/AMMAN (Reuters) - Egypt called on Thursday for intervention to halt bloodshed in Syria, telling a meeting of 120 nations it was their duty to stand against the "oppressive regime" of Bashar al-Assad, prompting a Syrian walkout.

President Mohamed Mursi, elected two months ago after a popular uprising toppled Egypt's long-standing leader Hosni Mubarak, said Assad had lost legitimacy in his fight to crush a 17-month-old revolt in which 20,000 people have been killed.

Mursi's scathing speech to a summit of non-aligned leaders, hosted by Assad's Shi'ite ally Iran, prompted Syria's foreign minister to accuse the moderate Sunni Islamist leader of inciting further bloodshed in Syria.

Let us keep in mind that MORSI is a SUNNI MUSLIM whereas ASSAD is ---ALAWITE---a form of islam related to the far more holy SHIITE form of islam Thus the fact that MORSI does not support ASSAD is to be expected. Naturally IRAN would be miffed at an attack on a favored shiite son. The only way to deal with this family problem is a stint with DOCTOR PHIL The mechanism of resolution will be DIALOGUE between the shiite and the sunni branches of the family MIXED MARRIAGES ARE LEGAL AND CAN WORK

it is not DRIVEL it is an ancient and holy thing Assad is ALAWITE----which is something like shiite/achmadinejad MORSI is SUNNI which is something like Osama/erdogan Hezbollah is shiite most of lebanon is sunni Turkey is mostly sunni Saudi arabia is sunni HAVE SOME RESPECT OF THE RELIGION!!!!!!!!

Muslims been killing each other since the beginning of Islam. And when they run out of non Musims to kill and oppress they start butchering each other. Islam is an intolerant violent religion that cannot coexist with anybody, EVEN ITSELF. That's why the "Muslim world" can never be united.
