Were this to be real, it would decentralize the production of energy. And the centralization of the income from energy. In other words, a whole bunch of small to medium sized companies making a decent profit for their owners and employees. Instead of a few enormous companies making billions for a select few.

I doubt it. If it was real, he would most definetly patent it. Which would mean for years it would only be available from one source. But lets be honest, he would probably turn around and sell those patents to a huge company like GE for $1B. Then the energy would go from being in the hands of a few large companies to 1 uber large company.
