Defeat the deficit without raising taxes

Did you dance for 8 years of Bush? Well, pay the fiddler and STFU!!!

I did my fair share of dancing during the Bush Administration. Don't really got out to clubs anymore tho so I only cut a rug at weddings these days.

It's a shame, the social hole we dig ourselves into after marriage. I think it is laziness. And you seem to have a desire to continue dancing,............just do it every chance you get.:eusa_angel:

Take this song to heart and apply it often.

But seriously, I think you are a little confused here. No worries.

Raise the freaking taxes already. All of us that are earning income owe it to our country to reduce the debt.

Fucking Republican assholes.

You first Nancy.
I would have no problem at all if taxes were raised on my income and everyone else's. Sadly, my earnings alone cannot solve our country's debt problem. If they could I would happily donate them.

It really bites that Republicans are such asswipes.

IMO, this is the end of the USA being a world power and the beginning of our slide into third world status.

Government spending does not work. It's been a major Keyenesian fail.

Only in the addled minds of brain washed cons.

You have to rewrite history, deny court documented facts, deny the definitions of words and out right lie to believe that but hell I have seen it done on this site repetedly by the caviling right wing truth adverse faction.

4 trillion spent = 9.2 per cent unemployment.
Epic fail!

To believe it is government's responsibility to give you a job, is to be a Socialist. Is that what you really are?

I believe we need spending cuts. I would gut the Pentagon, bring all troops home, gut foreign aid and corporate aid and stop all tax deductions, and let everybody pay the same monetary amount for taxes, as the poorest among us can pay, so the tax is fair to all.

The reason the poor dont pay income tax is you cant squeeze blood from a turnip.

You want debtors prisons for poor people who spent their taxes on food?

Just know an epic fail when I see one.

What about the conservative FAIL on the taxes/jobs issue. We didn't let the Bush cuts expire and the Reps are blocking the closing of loopholes, so WHERE ARE THE JOBS they promised?!?!

It's pretty simple folks. The scenario works like this. The Congress works out a "compromise" of tax increases and spending cuts. The tax increases happen immediately, the spending cuts NEVER materialize. In fact, spending increases by at least 20% more than the "revenue enhancement".

The best thing we can do as a country is NOT raise the debt ceiling. It creates an instantaneously balanced budget. Problem solved.

I heard the pres say this morning that he's not asking for tax hikes this year or in 2012, although he does want to allow the extended Bush tax cuts on the rich to expire. It should be noted that his ObamaCare program already raises taxes on the rich by around 4%. I wouldn't have a problem raising taxes in the future, but only under certain conditions, like GDP growth is sustained at better than 3% and UE gets below 7%.

I also don't like the idea of immediate massive cuts in spending now either, there's gotta be 200-300 billion we can find this year that would minimally affect the economy, we don't have to do it all at once. Biggest thing for me, getting an agreement that isn't smoke and mirrors and would really work.

You seem to have a poor understanding of what would happen if we didn't raise the debt ceiling. I suppose you don't mind the U.S having a D credit score though.

The future cost of barrowing due to the facdt that the US has been willing to default on it debt.

You see it has never been done before and once its done the lenders now know some idiot political faction will do it again more readily.,

You are advocating we fuck up our credit score on purpose.

Just like in your own life it will have nothing but bad consequences for this country.

I think they could pay taxes, say $200.00 a year (55 cents a day). If they can't, maybe they need to be in an institution for mental & physical help, instead of enjoying the fruits of freedom on their free ride. You could donate to them, sponsor a poor American for 55 cents a day.

Or you could make them self-reliant and get a job. Because the more taxes the poor would pay, the higher you could raise the taxation to cover rebuilding the infrastructure and meeting your few needs.

Specifically, McConnell with senate Reps are blocking closing loopholes but Ryan was not originally opposed to this in his plan and Cantor became open to it recently.

What proof do you have that we will default on our debt? The treasury can pay it's bills, they receive money every day. They just won't be able to borrow more. As old debt is retired they can issue new debt, but only up to the debt ceiling. Default would be a political decision.

Once again you are foolishly believing the doomsday scenario's that your puppet masters are feeding you. You're the board equivalent of Baghdad Bob!:cuckoo::lol::lol:

Sure. Lets raise taxes then sit back and watch the economy take off.

It depends on what you mean by raise taxes. We've gotten to the point where even letting a temporary tax cut expire is considered raising taxes. It's like calling a sale expiring at Walmart a price increase.

Reduce spending first then we'll talk about increasing Taxes. For the very simple reason these muppets cannot be trusted to the right thing if we give them an increase they will use that increase as a reason to get another increase just as has been done for years now.
