Electric probably your better choice simply because the last thing you would want to deal with is a deer stuck inside your fencing. They freak out and can seriously injure themselves. Unless you can go 15 feet high, I seldom recommend enclosed gardens without a roof to keep deer out for that reason. I have one, but I didn't fully enclose it so the deer can escape without human intervention should they get in it. I don't have a proper gate, preferring just poles closely spaced which usually keeps the bigger ones out. Keeping them out usually keeps the little ones out as well. To my knowledge I only had 1 deer in it this year.

we dont wanna wake every dog in the hollow.....my friggin dogs are just half ass into chasing the deer....i am trying to talk my hubby into another dog....he is not buying into it...

You'll want to watch getting them to chase deer, too. A friend had to put her dog down after it killed a deer. Warden came, she didn't argue either.

I know dogs can be shot for chasing deer…..

But I be damned if someone is going to put my dog down.....

My dogs are family members...…….

They will be protected as such......
