I'm finishing up this one I picked up a few weeks ago at the library. Always found travel biographies interesting but this one is different in that Theroux returns to the South's "black belt" season after season and goes into more detail about the people and conditions of this area of rural poverty. The repeat visits provide more depth than the typical travel biography regarding history and culture plus allows for adjustments of first impressions. It is enjoyable to read of people and places that I'll never meet or see.
