Decision of the Keystone pipe line from EPA is no

chirp from the left!!! Obama and the EPA does not want the us to have more jobs>. Obama is toast! Because these jobs are union jobs.. Unions will soon turn against him

unions will not turn against him,, they are stupid libturds, they just need a few days to rationalize.

Just like corporations, unions are people looking out for their own welfare. Union leadership doesn't like to have the rank and file pissed off at them. Obama is going to hear about it from the unions.

I'll bet I'm wright and you're wrong.

Good I hope he sticks to his guns and doesn't cave like he has so many times in the past three years.

Energy Security: Tar Sand will not Reduce Dependence on Foreign Oil
Keystone XL will not lessen U.S. dependence on foreign oil, but transport Canadian oil to American refineries for export to overseas markets.
Keystone XL is an export pipeline. According to presentations to investors, Gulf Coast refiners plan to refine the cheap Canadian crude supplied by the pipeline into diesel and other products for export to Europe and Latin America. Proceeds from these exports are earned tax-free. Much of the fuel refined from the pipeline’s heavy crude oil will never reach U.S. drivers’ tanks.

Key Facts on Keystone XL | Tar Sands Action

yet the oil would come to the US and the refineries (& jobs) would be located right here in the US.....

how handy would that be if.... say Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz....?

Nah, the unions know that Barry's always going to have their backs, Lovebears...he's only deep sixing the pipeline because he needs the tree hugger vote and you know how touchy they are! As soon as he gets reelected he'll either OK the pipeline or send some other sweetheart deal the union's way just like he did for the UAW. What you have to understand about Obama is that he's a "Chicago Progressive" which means he's progressive unless it's going to keep him from staying in office and if that's the case...then he's willing to be whatever you want him to be right up until election day.

Yup. Who needs jobs??

Hell Barry doesn't have to worry about paying the rent or heating the WH. He sure as hell doesn't have to worry about making that pesky car payment or putting food on the table.

He don't need no stinking job.

First, the myth of jobs. A few months ago, Fox News was claiming the pipeline would create 250,000 new jobs. Sounds good – except those numbers were based on a single study that has been widely discredited. According to the Cornell Labor Institute, the real number of permanent jobs created by the pipeline is likely to be about ... 50. If you factor in the environmental damages and higher oil prices the pipeline will cause, the project might even lead to a net loss of jobs.

So that's 50 more permanent jobs than we netted from Solyndra, Boo...and the best thing is that it isn't going to cost the taxpayer millions. I note that Rollingstone only wants to talk about "permanent" jobs. How may jobs would be created while the pipeline is actually being built? I'm guessing it's substantially more than 50. Care to take me up on that?

The added jobs are a plus but what makes this pipeline a no brainer is that it's one more source of oil flowing into the US that DOESN'T come from a potential trouble spot...IE...the MiddleEast or Hugo Chavez. If things blow up internationally we'll be kicking ourselves for not giving ourselves more options. Of course since Barry and his progressive pals want to set the price of oil somewhere in the $6.00 a gallon range...he's OK with the huge price spikes we'd be seeing.

The White House said a month was not long enough for the EPA study of the new route, and they're still saying it. Another example of Fox/Rush propaganda machine tempest in a tea pot for the dupes, and the fact that the "liberal media" is nothing but corporate media, prefer controversy to the facts, and are terrified of brainwashed dittohead/Pub loudmouths- see Health Reform, financial reform, etc etc etc.. Wrong AGAIN!

Obama Administration Rejects Keystone Pipeline Permit | Fox News
Obama, in a written statement, said that deadline "prevented a full assessment of the pipeline's impact."
So, they did not have time to fully assess the impact...

For three years, the State Department has been reviewing the initial proposal to run a pipeline from Canada down to Texas through a sensitive Nebraska aquifer -- authority it has because of the transnational path the route takes. The pipeline had been through several other federal, state and local approvals, but the department backed away from signing off on the plan last year after environmentalists complained.
...but they studied the impact for 3 years, and multiple approvals at multiple levels were already granted...

In a statement, the State Department said the denial of this permit "does not preclude any subsequent permit application or applications for similar projects."
...oh look, Obama left himself a loophole to approve it later... maybe right around election time???

Hell, the EPA is still trying to shut down the Alaska pipeline, lol!! This, coming from an agency that has declared CO2 dangerous. The pipeline actually increased the caribou numbers. I don't trust any on their biased studies AND it doesn't matter what party that's in power. The EPA is worthless.

Why should we continue to subsidize a dying technology?

Fossil fuels receive 5 times the government subsidies that solar and wind do.

Here's some hints.
That oil will STILL be there later on and the methods for extracting it safely will only get better and the price can only go up. So what's your hurry to get it out now?

Excuse me but the pipeline will not be paid for with our money so we are not subsidizing it.

It will be paid for by Keystone AND the Americans being paid that money will pay taxes to the US government.

It won't cost us a dime and it will increase revenues.

Anyone who has ever run a business knows a deal like that is a fucking no brainer.

It really seems sometimes that Obama wants the high unemployment and low wages so he can whip his base up into how evil the Republicans are. But every opportunity to make things better he either ignores or shuts down, and every opportunity to make things worse he grabs at.
and his supporters are to dumb to know that he is the one causing all this:cuckoo:

THEY are to dumb?

After incessant coverage of the failed solar panel maker Solyndra, major TV and print news outlets are now ignoring a report concluding that “the focus on Solyndra is not proportional to its impact.” The Bloomberg Government analysis of the Department of Energy’s 1705 loan guarantee program found that 87 percent of the portfolio is low-risk and that even if all 10 of the higher risk projects defaulted, we’d still have nearly half a billion dollars left in the fund set aside by Congress to cover losses.

Anything that is going to raise the price of gasoline here I am against.

That depends upon your view of the military patrolling overseas to protect our vital natural resource interests. Why should we be looking overseas for something we don't provide for ourselves within our own borders? Yet the Liberal Democrats wants to complain whenever they see jobs that are being employed by someone else in another country. If this is true with respect to the pipeline, then it appears this administration desires to raise the debt ceiling [yet again] to pay for unemployment extensions rather than provide some actual long term JOBS. After all this is what the American people would rather have, according to Obama and his "playing politcs" over doing the work of the American people.

Oh, but let's talk about infrastructure, as well as making sure teachers and police officers can get back to work. It would seem that the Chevy Volt isn't the only GREEN iniative this administration has, as Obama also seems to enjoy recycling the same government jobs creation speech he offered along with the 2009 Stimulus plan. Too bad we can't also recall this President along with the safety issues of the Chevy Volt.

You mean like how he blocked high-speed rail projects?

Oh, wait...

So the fact that this pipeline won't cost Americans one red cent is completely lost on you?

No, but from what I've read, the potential environmental risk isn't worth the relatively small amount of jobs it's supposed to generate.

Potential risk.

What a mealy mouthed cop out.

Say what you will, wingut, but the fact still remains that there were also potential jobs with high-speed rail and a few asshole GOP governors shot it down.
