Deal made- gov. stays open..

Well, the Republicans got the budget done, something the flaccid impotent hysterical demonRats were unable to accomplish.. "Now they're here to kill women" says one of em... I rolled off the couch laughing. What a freaking dingbat,, she missed her hormones or sumpin.:lol::lol::lol::lol: Now on to the 2012 budget. this should be interesting.
Yes, the 2012 budget should be interesting. And, the countdown starts to midnight September 31.

:eusa_whistle:Thirty days hath September":eusa_whistle:
 It sure does.

Well, given the feelings of the Teabaggers, I think that the DNC should start a fund to help the TB's in the primarys against all those Quisling Repukes. Yessirree....... get as many of the wingnuts on ballots as possible. By that time I think that the sane 70% of the population will have had enough of the brainless antics of these clowns. And we will also have gotten most of the Repukes that are pushing for this nation to be an oligarchy out of the way.

When push came to shove, it looks like the GOP wasn't going to follow through with another shutdown. $38 billion is certainly more than what has been proposed by both sides ($33 billion from the Dems, $30 billion from the GOP a few months ago) recently.

I just hope that Congress will not squander this opportunity to have a serious discussion about the budget without the hammer of a government shutdown swinging over the heads of federal employees. Wishful thinking perhaps, but I suppose we'll see.

When did the Republicans ever "propose" $30 billion? $100 billion is what they proposed.

February 3, 2011:

WASHINGTON — After clamoring loudly about their plans to curtail federal spending, House Republicans announced Thursday that they would cut $32 billion for the remainder of the fiscal year — a minuscule amount compared with a projected annual deficit of nearly $1.5 trillion.

The Republican proposal is effectively $58 billion less than the domestic and foreign aid programs in President Obama’s budget request for 2011 — far short of the $100 billion in cuts that Representative John A. Boehner promised before the November elections that catapulted Republicans into the House majority and made him the speaker.

Business as usual.Total surrender by the GOP,Is time to clean house and vote them all out.The Tea party will now have to get bigger and split off the GOP.Both partys are corrupt and will NEVER
balance the budget!

The RINOs like Boner will have to be defeated in the primaries.

I will be contributing money to his opponent in the primary race

They actually plan on raising the Pentagon budget by $6 billion. This, after Senate Democrats offered a deal for defense cuts about $10 billion. That was immediately rejected by the GOP however.

As I said previously, this was never about the money. It was about an agenda.

It's obviously about money. Otherwise, why did the Dem parasites fight so hard against bigger cuts?

Only a Dim would call cutting the Defense budget while we're in the middle of three wars a "deal."

the bloated budgets are what allow for wars of convenience by our imperialist "leaders". cut the budget by 3/4s and bring all the troops home.

Cut government by 90%. We don't need any of it other than the courts and our national defense.

The problem for the Tea Party is having a movement run on perpetual anger. It doesn't work for the socialists. Never mind the fact that the Tea Party has already been co-opted by the GOP and Conservative media.

Yeah, a raving lunatic leftwinger is where I go for an honest analysis of a political movement.

 :cuckoo:

You assume the entire defense budget is tied up in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Libya. Tell me Thomas, why do we need bases in over 150 countries? Or bases in Germany, England, and Japan? World War II and the American Revolution are over.

We don't, but Dims are the ones who lobby for those bases because they provide jobs in their favorite socialist people's republics.

I was all with the tea party until it got taken over by social conservatives and the usual corporate-backed scum. at that point it just become a slightly more to the right version of the GOP.

You're just another lying leftwing hack. You never supported the TEA party

because we maintain a global presence, maintaining a presence requires logistical tails and way-points.

As far as the the 2nd Inf. div. and air wings in So. Korea, frankly they could pull them for all I care.

We don't need any army bases in Europe. We need a few naval and air bases scattered around the world. We could easily cut the number of bases to 25.

If I were a betting man, I'd be offering 10:1 odds that Boehner and company caved and 50:1 odds that come next election the Republicans and Tea Party will have forgotten.

Immie

I'd bet 100:1 odds that you're a parasite sucking on the government tit.

Bush cut taxes during two wars, that was a first.

Folks, be happy. The Tea Party tried very hard to strangle itself in its cradle this week but, fortunately for it, there was an adult in the room that wouldn't let it. Live to throw a tantrum another day.

for someone who advocates for a 500 billion dollar carnival trick, I guess thats what I could expect.

does this post have a point?

I am sorry, then, can you please direct me to your objections to say, DADT being made part of the lame duck session of congress wherein budget and tax deals were made just 4 months ago?

WTF are you talking about? what does this have to do with DADT?

well, dadt and the dream act are 'social' issues, so?

I thought Boehner and the GOP came out of it pretty well, they got historic spending cuts from a democratic Senate and WH and avoided a shutdown that many might have blamed them for and used against them next year. This was it, as good as they were going to get, and besides it showed Boehner has enough control over his caucus to make them very formidable in the budget talks for FY 2012. Looked to me like they (GOP) were dealing from a position of resolute strength thanks in part to the TP and all those freshman reps.

I see I'm being outvoted by some of my fellow members on this, and I'm trying to also put a happy face on it. I'm not succeeding too well.

When you look at more than trillion dollar deficits every year as far as the eye can see and a Congress and Chief Executive that have more appetite for big government than they have for fiscal integrity, that $30 some billion in budget reduction is pocket change. I see it as a feel good ploy that will do little or nothing to stop our headlong rush over the bankruptcy cliff.

But okay, it is historic which in itself is really sad, but as somebody said, it is a start. If we can elect a lot more fiscal conservatives next year, maybe we can actually start the big fix. But we won't ever do it if we think organizations like Planned Parenthood have to be funded. If organizations like that can't stand on their own two feet without federal funding, maybe they don't deserve to survive. And there are a gazillion expenditures like that which in my opinion don't fall in the 'necessity' category and should be dumped.

I will be looking for people to vote for with the stomach to dump the non essentials.

and a drunk

Least my sister will now be paid on time..She was worried.

And before any jackoff says shit, she is in the navy, and her husband is a marine.

From what I have read leading up to this, the military (at least the essential personnel) were scheduled to be paid even if the government was shut down.

Can I ask if you had different information in that regard as I am curious to know.

If you have an answer to this and I don't respond tonight, thank you but I am headed to bed shortly.

Immie

well what she told me was yes they where going to get paid. But only for the last 8 days. she gets paid every 15 days.
Her pay stub was like a 3rd of what she normally would get.

thats all i got from her....

Thanks for the info.

Hopefully, we won't find out anytime soon that they would not have been paid. From what I am picking up from the news, the agreement is not a done deal. Although, it sounds as if Boehner did, in fact, cave and what is being offered is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

I can't wait to find out what gems are part of this $38.5 Billion cut! I'm guessing none of it will affect the affluent.
