Deadly wave heads for Brisbane | The Australian

Les Schultz, a former resident of the Lockyer Valley town, told of screams coming from inside one house smashed off its foundations and hurtled along in the deadly torrent. Quoting a friend, who witnessed the scene, he said: "This home just floated past his house with people yelling out for help. But no one could help them."

Terrible news.

They are getting fucked hard this summer so far. Expect more in the future of extremes.

Holy Mother of God...........:eek::eek: Only the totally brainwashed would come up with a moron response like that.:lol::lol::lol:

We can see extremes in the future. It is the norm.

Extremes are the norm period. There are no more extremes today or will be in the future than were in the past. Read a book and learn some damned history. The historical ignorance of people on this board is astounding!

Floods like these are "normal"?

Yes, they are. There is even a name for them "100 year flood". The Mississippi River flood plain is 200 miles wide. Large floods are common. Mankind lives for a very brief time in the history of this planet so we have very little experience of it so whenever there is a flood like this people are all oooohh it's the end of the world...

Read a few books about great floods through mans history and you will see what I mean.

Here are a couple to get you started...

Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Great Dayton Flood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What happened during the 1990 Great Floods, Australia? - Yahoo! Answers

Known Floods in the Brisbane & Bremer River Basin, including the Cities of Brisbane and Ipswich

As you can see great floods are quite common.

Now Walleyes continues to lie to protect the profits of the energy companies, even when we see the number of extreme events increasing by an order of magnitude in the last decade. And 2010 was one heck of a start to the next decade. Hansen's predictions are coming to pass in spades.

Holy mother of god, you are once again proving what an idiotic troll you are.

Russia, heat, a 40% loss of grain crops. Pakistan, flood, nearly the whole of that nations agriculture lost.

Argentina, Uraguay, heat and drought, cattle, grains, and soybeans lost.

Tennessee, floods.

China, floods, some grain loss.

Europe, heat, drought, about a 10% loss of grains.

And now a major loss of both grain and cattle in Queensland.

Do you wonder that your grocery prices have gone up? Well, they are going to increase even more. Have a look at what the commodities market is doing.

They sure do. And here in Oregon, we have had in one area, three of those 100 year floods in less than a decade. Same for the Red River Valley.

The frequency of the floods has increased by an order of magnitude.

1000 year floods?

Okay admittedly they're happening every decade or so, now, but hey, since we cannot prove to the satisfaction of people who openly acknowldge that no proof will every convince them of anything...

Why bother trying?

Let's just agree that this is a really BIG flood, the likes of which we have never seen before.

Look...if global climate change is indeed happening...it doesn't matter if people believe it's happening.

They'll believe it when it comes to their house.

Until then?

Let them continue to be blissfully ignorant.

You're trying to teach pigs to sing, OR.

It's annoying the pigs!

Show us the proof for that particular bit of drivel. How many rivers systems are there in Oregon? How many times have they had a 100 year flood this century? One of the most retarded statements ever made by you.

The right says prices went up because of Obama.
