David Vitter cosponsor of Blunt Amendment, yea, THAT David Vitter

If true and he paid for the safeguards himself then what's the bitch?

Maybe it's sort of like that goose and gander and what's good for who sort of thing? Maybe you just don't see the broader picture: GET THE POLITICIANS OUT OF MY BEDROOM.

But you want the politiicans in your bedroom, don't you?

Otherwise, this would be a contract between Ms. Fluke and Georgetown University/the Catholic Church.

Georgetown agrees to provide an educaiton and basic health care but not pay for her birth control, because she isnt there to have sex. She's there to get a degree.

This is about a politician telling Georgetown that they have to pay for her birth control whether they want to or not. Even if it violates their most sacred religious beliefs.

Now, I think this is fine and all. But let's call this what it is, you want the government to take Ms. Flukes side over the Church's side. No one put a gun to Ms. Fluke's head to make her go to Georgetown. She could have gone to any other law school where this wouldn't have been an issue.

I have no problem with this. The Church is an employer like anyone else, and if we've decided this is the law, this is the law. But please don't whine about the "government being in your bedroom" when you invited them there. (Metaphorically, of course. Wouldn't want you go all Faux outrage or anything.)

Senator David Vitter

New allegations tie Sen. David Vitter to a high-priced brothel in his hometown, one day after he publicly apologized for his connection to an alleged prostitution ring in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, Vitter acknowledged being involved with the so-called D.C. Madam, hours after Hustler magazine told him his telephone number was among those she disclosed. A day later, new revelations linked him to a former madam in New Orleans and old allegations that he frequented a former prostitute resurfaced, further clouding his political future.

When he returned, Republicans gave him a "standing ovation".

I heard he used contraception. Rubbers and stuff. Hilarious! Truly hilarious!

Who?

No offense, but his topic is asinine.

It's despicable the wedge-issues the left throws at us.

The price of gas is sky-rocketing and the left comes up with Bull Shit just to change the subject.

It is the Republicans who creating THIS edge issue.

AFter all, MW, the BLUNT amendment isn't a democratic invention, its a piece of legislation brough to us by the GOP.

The GOP LOVES these wedge issues, that's exactly why they keep proposing wedge issue legislation.

A piece of legislation brought by the GOP after the Obama administration broke its promise to not force religious institutions to provide birth control. (Remember, this is what the whole Stupek amendment to ObamaCare was about.)

This is the insidious trap of Obama/RomneyCare. It claims it is still preserving the private enterprise aspect of the American health care system, but really, it is bogging it down with so many mandates and regulations that they are really turning the insurance carriers into public utilities.

Which might have been the point, actually.

I guess we have our dickheads like you have.

Remember Barney Frank (D) and his male prostitute friend????

Seems to me you need to clean your own house before you start pointing fingers at other people's.

Widely regarded as one of the most intelligent and well spoken members of the House of Representatives, Barney Frank, a Democratic Congressman for nearly 30 years and the first openly gay member of the House, almost undid his career in 1989 after having an affair with Steve Gobie, a male prostitute. Although Frank was single at the time — thus not committing adultery — he did pay someone for sex (with personal funds), which is illegal in his state of Massachusetts. But the poor judgment didn't end there. Frank hired Gobie to run errands and allowed him to live at his home, where Frank obviously hoped he would be rehabilitated and renounce his life of sin. The only problem: Gobie kept on working as a prostitute — from Frank's home.

The Congressman maintained that he had no knowledge that his digs were being used as a brothel and said that he kicked Gobie out once he learned what the escort had been doing there. Desperate to prove his limited culpability in the case, Frank requested an investigation by the House Ethics Committee. The 10-month probe found that Frank did not, in fact, know about the happenings in his home but that he should be reprimanded for use of House privilege in waiving 33 of Gobie's parking tickets and for writing a memo that attempted to end Gobie's probation for a prior infraction. Despite attempts by former Idaho Congressman Larry Craig (the stall-inator) to have the Massachusetts Congressman removed, Frank went on to win several re-elections by wide margins.

Strange, that. I mean given your jonesing to pay for every slut's birth control.

You don't pay for a college girl's birth control.

"Girls" in their thirties ought pay for their own since they're playing with low-lives who don't bring their own to the party. If you'd like to save them from that then start a charity and collect money to give to them on request. Who knows, there might be as grand salaries for the leadership of such a thing as there are for other liberal outfits.

I don't understand your thinking. I thought all you gay guys had close relationships with "girls" like Colton in Survivor. Of course you gay guys are a diverse group and even though you're gay you can still be a misogynist.

Who?

David Vitter. You know, the still serving GOP Senator who was caught patronizing prostitutes and as a result was given a standing ovation by his GOP collegues.

I guess he must be some kind of hero...:eusa_whistle:

I'm not sure I understand. Did Barney then co sponsor "anti gay" legislation and run on "family values"? Is that what you are trying to say?

Oops, ended another thread with a common sense answer. I do that a lot.
