British archaeologists excavating a church site in Oxford have brought to light the darker side of medieval convent life, revealing skeletons of nuns who died in disgrace after being accused of immoral behavior.

Discovered ahead of the construction of a new hotel, the burial ground stretches around what used to be Littlemore Priory, a nunnery founded in 1110 and dissolved in 1525.

Archaeologists led by Paul Murray, of John Moore Heritage Services, found 92 skeletons of women, men and children.

When you read the story you get the idea that they know all about the convent and those that are buried there. I ran into the same problem when reading the same distortion on here:

They only tell half the story:

The history of the Babylonian religion - Catholicism (newer name for it) is full of horror. This does not even scratch the surface of the evil that has been done. Jesus said, By their fruits ye shall know them. The fruit of Catholicism is satanic.

Makes me feel fortunate that I only have liberals to deal with...

Interesting history but of course, the nutters have to crap everywhere.

If you want the history of the Roman Catholic Babylonian Institution see this thread and take note of the sources and footnotes. This is the real story on Catholicism that the Vatican does not want you finding out about.

Jeri, in view of the recent news concerning evangelical cults covering up the serial sexual abuse of 4-5y/o's, you might want to think about removing that telephone pole from your eye.

I've made clear that they should have reported the crime when it happened. It mattered not that the person who committed the crime was their 14 yr. old son. We all have to obey the laws of the land - Christians included.

What I find interesting is that when the movie producer of X Men - Bryan Singer and his close friend Rector - Collins ( who is still at large) was accused of sexual abuse by their victims - you didn't appear interested. Why?

I had to google the names because I had not heard of the case. I see a lawsuit but no settlement. If he's found guilty, I hope he is punished, never works again and is ostracized by his peers. What do YOU think should be done if he is found guilty?

Did I miss something?

Are you saying Singer's parents and his cult/church covered up his crime and sent him to live with a kiddie porn cop? (What? To hone his skills?) Are you saying that so-called "christians" have rallied around him and are calling his victim a "cup of spit"? Are you saying he still has access to 4-5year old victims as well as the support of evangelical cults and politicians?

Sorry, but I'm not seeing the similarities.

You saying that someone else committed a crime is justification for giving this serial child molester a pass is just one more kind of assault on those little girls. SHAME ON YOU.

No, I am saying that if Josh Duggar repented of his sins he is forgiven. Just as when you or anyone else repents of their sins - they are forgiven. Sin is sin. There is no such thing as a big or small sin. Sin is sin. It is all the same in God's eyes. When sin is repented of - It is put under the Blood of Jesus Christ. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy....

That's just more religious double talk and has nothing at all to do with the crime or the fact that the cult blames the victims.

Pretty much everyone who has even a clue about life in a Middle Ages nunnery asked themselves "well, really, how much worse could it get?"

Medieval times are generally from the 5th to the 15th century A.D. Archaeological sites dating from that era might show cruelty and suffering that is beyond comprehension in the modern world. By the 18th century the greatest thinkers in the world created the greatest Country in the world from scratch and the freedom of religion inherent in the Bill of Rights should be celebrated by Americans as the greatest most influential document in human history. It should be noted that the current enemies of the greatest Country in the world are self described jihadists who still adhere to social concepts inherent in 6th century thinking.

Anyone who blames the victims is sick in the head. Are you satisfied yet? What do you want me to say? I said he committed a crime, should have been reported, arrested and faced a judge, Luddly. It was the parents who didn't report him. That was the failure of the parents. imo. Now - because of a statute of limitations - it is no longer a court matter I am told. I am also against the statute of limitations for rape and paedophile crimes. What else can I tell you? I am also against parents who use their children as babysitters! It is not the duty of a child to babysit another child. That is the responsibility of adults! What else? Off topic good news -

The cat is asleep and ate her food and drank some water earlier. That is the good news. Over and out!

At last! Something we can agree on - but sit tight! Because this pope will yet prove us wrong! This Jesuit pope is hiding something and I believe is up to some very evil business, Steven. I look at his countenance and see someone who is very dark. Very evil. I don't believe any Jew or Protestant should trust him or a word he says.

Thomas Helwys - Religion-wiki

In the early seventeenth century, Helwys was principal formulator of that distinctively Baptist request: that the church and the state be kept separate in matters of law, so that individuals might have a freedom of religious conscience. Thomas Helwys was an advocate of religious liberty at a time when to hold to such views could be dangerous. He died in prison as a consequence of the religious persecution of Protestant dissenters under King James I.

Most of those 'greatest thinkers' were themselves influenced by the Christian philosophy; whether they realized it or would have admitted it or not.

Christianity is dynamic and capable of change, while Islam is a political cult most comparable to Nazism, only worse.
