Damascus in Prophecy

Read 2nd kings 16 verse 9 If I recollect correctly..The whole chapter might clear up some issues others are having....There are many misinterpretations from the original scriptures... The question you can ask yourself is whether they were done deliberately or because they just did not understand the Hebrew original concepts... Hebrew is poetic and not to be taken literally .. Forever might have been in the mind of the writer for example as a very very long time so to him it would be Quote forever... Obviusly cities in this area were constantly destroyed and rebuilt on the same site over and over again ..Damascus is no exception....

There are only technically 7 years on the prophetic calendar left. Never mind that these 7 years have been suspended for a couple thousand years. The calendar can begin again without warning.

The 7 years starts with a peace treaty authored by The Antichrist himself signed by Israel which The Anti Christ breaks 3.5 years in.

One does not usually sign a peace treaty to prevent war but to end war.

Events within or leading up to the 7 years are as follows:

  • Within those 7 years will be the Temple of Jerusalem Rebuilt
  • The appearance of the two witnesses, possibly Ezekial and Elijah
  • The Rise of Antichrist
  • The Destruction of Damascus
  • Several battles of which Armageddon is just one.
  • The Defilement of The Temple by Antichrist.
  • The 7 seals, 7 bowl judgments, and 7 vile judgments
  • The Return of Christ
That does not mean we will not see things being setup, prepositioned, and things put in place beforehand.

Things like armies amassing
Near Damascus. It would take a fairly violent battle to turn and entire city and surrounding suburbs to complete rubble.

Things like an announcement of Nations wanting to move their embassies to Jerusalem.

Things like agreements or a battle or war that make it possible for The Temple to be built in Jerusalem.
