As to Cynthia McKinney, this is not a politically risky position for her to take. She is giving voice to an element in the black community that thinks the US is evil and responsible for the most reprehensible acts of genocide committed against black people in this country. (CIA spreading AIDS amongst blacks, CIA spreading crack cocaine amongst blacks, the aforementioned killings after Katrina), apparently this group represents a majority in her district And Sheila Jackson Lee's district and John Conyers' district and Maxine Watters' district, I could go on but these are the poster children for this particular set of delusional "ideas."

Since both populations have been homicide bombers in the past, on what basis do you say all of those injured are "innocent?" Additionally, both groups have actively taken part in the Intifada. Israeli women and children are being taken care of and they have been throughout this conflict. Additionally, no masses of Israeli women or children have been killed or even wounded by the homemade scuds fired by Hamas. There is no crisis of medical attention taking place within Israel.

I have repeatedly said I want to see a military force in the region to protect the safety and security of both Palestinians AND Israelis .. which you've ignored.

The boat was in international waters and experiencing engine difficulties, and so it docked in Lebanon.

Look to me like this "news" is much ado about nothing, really.

Had it landed and offloaded at GAZA, or had it been blown out of the water trying to reach GAZA, then it might have been meaningful.

That being said, I cannot help but wonder how it is that HAMAS can manage to smuggle rockets into GAZA, but cannot manage to smuggle in medical supplies?

Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, unimpeded by the "closed military zone" imposed by Israel, was among 16 people aboard a medical supply boat that collided with an Israeli naval ship Tuesday as it tried to enter coastal waters around Gaza.

The yacht, owned by the U.S.-based Free Gaza Movement, was reportedly carrying 3.5 tons of medical supplies donated by Cyprus. A press release from the group claimed "several Israeli gunboats intercepted the Dignity she was heading on a mission of mercy to Gaza." They said the Israeli military fired machine guns into the water in an attempt to stop the Dignity's progress.

The boat, registered under the flag of Gibraltar and with an English captain, reportedly took on water and experienced engine problems, according to the group's Web site. It also said the incident occurred 90 miles offshore in international water. The boat's captain was given permission to dock in Lebanon, where it was regrouping to try again.

Israel's foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told Reuters that an Israeli vessel and the 60-foot Free Gaza Movement boat did make "physical contact," but only after the aid boat failed to respond to radio contact. He denied any gunfire had occurred, and he said no one was hurt in the incident. He told Reuters the Israeli ship escorted the damaged boat back to Cypriot territorial waters.

Why on earth would they stop her? Oh sure I can see boarding the boat seizing the medical and other supplies the subversives are taking in... but they should have let them continue on into Gaza and summarily targeted them as a legitimate military target, having already established them as operating to directly aid the enemy.

Had they done so, McKinney's stupidass would be dead along with her terrorist promoting comrades and this world would be immeasurably better off.

This is just another example of why Isreal will inevitably be defeated by its niavete... and the eternal kindnesses it shows to its enemy.

Cynthia McKinney is one of the more fucked up politicos that I've seen in a while. She's an attention seeking whore who thinks that just because she's in Congress, she's entitled to do whatever the fuck she thinks is appropriate.

Yes.....the Palestinian civilians (not the fighters) deserve to get aid. Yes, the innocent need to be taken care of.

However.......according to latest figures, of the 390 people killed so far, only 60 of them have been civilians. The rest of the dead have been Hamas insurgents.

Remember back in 2005 when this was going on then also? It showed that the Palestinian insurgents were shielding their ammo dumps and strongholds with civilians on the outside, hoping that Israel wouldn't strike. Israel dropped leaflets telling them to be elsewhere and then bombed the shit out of them

By the way, 60 out of 390 is less than 20 percent civilian casualties. In WWII, the allies would have loved to have that kind of accuracy in populated areas. Nailing over 80 percent bad guys with less than 20 percent innocent?

I'd call that a win in any kind of war.
