ForeverYoung436, et al,

They all vary in their presentation.

People who post on this Board have such a distorted vision of what Israel is, and I guess it's because they've never been there. There's no apartheid, especially in Israel proper, against Arabs. This got me to thinking. I wanna ask a question to those who have been to Arab/Muslim countries: Are they really the shitholes/cesspools that they're described to be? Do they have no human rights at all, or is this picture exaggerated?

On the other hand, Amman is fairly clean. The people and the country have an entirely different attitude. Omen is compatible to any city in the west, as is most of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Had the Christians and Muslims of Palestine been granted independence when the Muslims of Trans-Jordania received theirs, Palestine would be far more advanced than Jordan. The Palestinians were the most educated and capable people of the Middle East.

Oh really??? Any proof to base this nonsense:
"The Palestinians were the most educated and capable people of the Middle East"

More than Arabs who gave us "0" ,more than Shumer that gave us writing,
well Jews....

Show us one national palestinian invention/ symbol/ artifact

People who can't pronounce the first letter "P" of their so called nation...the most educated
...Well they really think other people are idiots..

You mean American Jews such as Adelson that is holding the strings of American politics and AIPAC? Wait, nice try there - but I won't let you derail this thread, we are talking about having an actual footstep in Israel versus Arab Muslim states.

It's not a "try" at all. It's a hat trick.

Yep a hat trick of derailments and islamomoron propaganda

James Besser is an "islamomoron"? You are hilarious.

You are freddy boy, it seems that English is not your first language because you have such a hard time understanding it

Well English is certainly not your first language. You claimed that article referred to, written by a well known Jewish journalist, was "Islamomoron" propaganda, hence the writer, by definition, the writer is an "Islamomoron" according to you.

No logic her either, can't a muslim take a jewish name and post whatever he wants?
Well muslims are allowed to deceive and conceal the true face FOR JIHAD.
Also aren't ther christian or far left jews.

NO LOGIC.

That's great you once again surprise us with your ability to read, comprehend, and conclude.
What's funny in your post is the fact when the OT speaks about HR in Arab Muslim States versus Israel - you sees it as a challenge and instead of replying coherently to the subject you simply post a video to draw the attention ("derail") to the video about few rotten apples instead of talking about the atrocious HR in Arab Muslim states, like there is even something to compare, hah.
By the way the arrest was legal but they are convicted for over use of force and already imprisoned.
That's what funny,clown.

Yes, too bad Jordan didn't do that in 1948 when they annexed the whole West Bank.

What does linking an article by a respected Jewish journalist have to do with failed propaganda, which is your forte'?

Thanks for telling me about life in Arab countries. What about human rights? Is it really true that Arab countries have no freedoms? Again, I ask this because it's obvious that Tinmore, JoeB, pbel, etc., have never been to Israel proper, since they call her Fascist.

When I was in Yemen, a female American Citizen, who was married to a dual citizen Yemenis-American,was prevented from leaving the country and returning to America. It turns-out that a female may not leave the country without the husbands permission; even an American Citizen. The Husband goes to the registry and enters her name and Passport #, and it is done. If she tries to leave border control will catch her.

Some countries have rules against women driving, and some prevent women from going out in public on her own without a male family escort.

Most Respectfully,
R

I was stationed in Saudi Arabia for two years while with the U.S. Army when it was more "liberal" before King Faisal was assassinated by a princeling that had gone to university in the U.S. The country was backward then and more backward now. Women couldn't drive and women had to have their husband's permission to get on a plane, in fact the husband had to go to the airport and approve the travel if she was traveling without him. It's worse now, I understand. Saudi is the home of the Wahabis.

Besides women's rights, what about freedom of speech, the press and religion?

When I was there, foreign newspapers were redacted, i.e. Saudi Arabian censors would manually black out text they considered inappropriate. I mean, actual persons would black out each copy of the newspaper. They must use more automated methods today, but I suspect they still censor.

Good Post FEY,I HAVE travelled the world quite extensively and there is much distortion about both sides but in normal circumstances it is mainly good on both sides...............But we do not live in NORMAL TIMES,the emergence of ISIS in all its machinations are the biggest problem(for obvious reasons) but this heinous group only became dominant because of the void left in Iraq by the ineptitude of the Allied forces, mainly the Americans who invaded a soverign sic nation...with all his faults Saddam had complete control of Iraq, today we see the outcome of weak leadership and the results of poorly organized invasion........American today have much to answer for(well throughout their history, their smash and grab policy has always ended in defeat in the end)they left CHAOS in Iraq, this coupled with allowing the Despot in Syria to continue also contributed to the situation we have today...the only people who have shown any backbone are the Kurds........but back to your original question nearly all these different people just want a peaceful life to bring up their families and have a life.........God knows what it must be like to live under repression and death on a daily basis for the "Ordinary Folk" be they Arab or Jew or Palestinian.......the detrimental effect mentally must be horrendous...............NO ONE SHOULD LIVE LIKE THIS(Icould go on,but will stop here).steve

I've been to several Muslim countries, from Agadir in Morocco to Istanbul in Turkey and found they're no more shitholes/cesspools than some cities I've visited in the UK and Europe. They have their well-to-do and poor areas like our cities do. When I was in Egypt last, there was a beggar problem, but they had "tourist police" who would soon show up if the beggars became to bothersome but most would take the hint if you just said, "La, imshi" and waved them away. I've since encountered more and more beggars in London and other cities at home, so begging seems to be making a big comeback in the "prosperous West" or at least the U.K. The Muslim people I've encountered in my travels have been universally polite and well mannered; I've lost count of the times I've had to decline the offered seat and mint tea when I've paused outside someone's shop (the trick is to keep moving, unless you really want to buy something). haggling is universal; I suspect you lose a lot of respect if you accept the first price the locals charge, and yes, I've even encountered the cliche Arab willing to part with livestock in exchange for my wife, in Tunisia!

One thing I've learned on my travels is that people are the same all over the world, regardless of their religions; there are good and bad people everywhere but most just want a quiet and happy life.
Good Post Challenger.....I enjoyed the offer made for your wife,I assume you didn't take it.

When I was 17,(I had a gap year) I visited Morocco,in the Casbah,a guy came out of the shadows and I was firstly offered Hashish,I declined, then offered his wife, again declined,Ahh he said You want the BOY!!!!......Challenger, life is a learning curve indeed, moreover it helped me deal with girls on the avenue,to say NO,if you get what I mean.steve,PLAY LOUDLYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=kknV4BRq8yU

Later I travelled Europe and eventually landed in Haifa from Istanbul.....Eyes were raised at the number of Arabic Countries I had visited as my passport was nearly full of stamps from the countries I had visited......I had the obligatory Israeli Strip Search...no problem but I was questioned quite a bit....but I told them to ring the head man at Kibbuts sic Dalya sic who gave me the all clear........I got a job with EL-AL on the Tourist Buses as I have, well had, great knowledge of the history of the Holy Land(see all that attention to religious studies, when I was younger helped me, although totally boring to me at the time) I did the Haifa-Nazareth-Meggiedo(Fantastic) sic-Akko(Acre)-Haifa run.....and it was brilliant.......mainly BB from the American South, always Moms and Daughters only(I think the husbands thought that Holy Tours would keep their women safe)little did they know that I and other "Young highly testosteroned sic Guys were laying in wait" I have to admit here that all these wonderful women were so nice to me,if you get my drift.

I had a business arrangement with Majid a Palestinian friend who owned a tourist shop.....the "Ladies" would pour out of the coach and buy almost anything and everything to take back home to America.....It was after a couple of week that I had the idea of making sachets of "Soil from the Holy Land and Water from Mary's Well(which it was)''.....US $5 each,we struggled to keep up production I must admit....we all made a lot of money Israeli Pounds.

I spent 5 months there and learn't a lot......and I was invited virtually every weekend, to homes of Jewish and Palestinian friends and combinations of both, they got on well on the whole....but then Zionism wasn't so important or invasive, anyhow most were modern thinking secular Jews and had no hang ups about anything, including being friends with Palestinians and visa-versa....and yours truely..............steve
