Ct. School Makes English Mandatory

A new requirement from the New London, CT school board will mandate that all students must know English in order to graduate from high school.

Why was this not a requirement before?

There are a few catches, though

1. The rule will not be applied until 2015
2. Students will have several different tests from which to choose
3. You have until your 21st birthday to establish that you have a reasonable grasp of the English language.

So it's yet to be seen whether this will mean anything.
